Relampago: Just checking
Looks like it unlocks on Steam at about 11am CDT tomorrow, dunno if that's the same for GOG or not...
Yea, I reckon is same for GoG as for Steam... Its looking like the release is world wide at the same time Location changing does not do anything....
According to official chanels it's 4pm Central European time (CEST). That's 3pm London time (BST), 10am New York time (EDT).

Thanks all.
Steam has been preloading for about an hour. Maybe a little more.

That would be 9am CDT which would make me insanely happy. :)

Thanks!
Well, the backer email states:

"Once you have picked up your key and registered it on your platform of choice, you'll be all set and good to go for launch. You'll be able to pre-load the game before it releases on the 25th at midnight PDT, 9am CET, 10am Moscow time."

I suppose, that means "9am CET on Sep. 26th" and same for Moscow time.
I doubt we'll get the game before steam users do.

Steam can already pre-load though. No clue why they're completely ignoring GoG in this regard... Pretty shitty.

To be fair, I'm not entirely sure how a preload would work on GOG, given that you are downloading the full install files without DRM...

It has been done plenty of times before (here on GoG) and it's not that complicated. Usually the download exists of several files. All you have to do is leave out a single part. Then you allow people to download the final part at launch.

It requires team work on the part of GoG and Owlcat games, given that both GoG and Owlcat are small fry compared to their respective competators it likely wasn't worth it to put in the extra time aka money to do so. GoG is a lot smaller than valve, that is just a fact. Owlcat isn't a large studio. Pre-downloads in a no DRM enviornment are not as simple as flicking a switch. DRM alows better controls for publishers/developers (At our expense as customers) to do perks like a pre-download. So expect "advantages" for other platforms but know that your advantage is no DRM. Even if that means you have to wait a few hours to play.

I try very hard not to pre-load any games on steam. The last few times I've done just that I ended up having to wait hours to play the game while it did what ever it had to do to install the game. I had friends playing hours before me who just installed at launch. I guess if your internet is bad, would be one of the reasons you would want to pre-load. Just know from my experience it takes for ever to play at launch on pre-loads.

Pre-loads are encrypted and the decryption can take longer than the download. It's only worth pre-loading if your internet speed is REALLY slow.
Download is up
