Since I saw the price reduction for the game and figured a few more people would give it a go I would suggest some mods that really improve the graphics as well as the gameplay.

79 mb (Last updated December 23 2010)

Panzer Elite three includes all of the Ostpak mod fixes for the original game plus the latest PEX mod from PEDG.
This features extended view range, fog and weather effects, time of flight for shells, improved infantry behavior and ballistics, reversing AI tanks, and many other game engine fixes. Included is the improved Brit44 sound and particle effects which enhance the gaming experience.

All of Geezer's realistic art work for AFVs, trees, infantry, and structures have been adapted into the original Panzer Elite game world wherever possible. The 30 Monty vs Rommel and Britpak scenarios can be played with the 40 originals and the 60 Ostpak scenarios for mega campaigns.

Unzip the PE3 download after a fresh Panzer Elite install with Patch 1.2. Enable Panzer Elite Three with the Mod enabler. Then play as usual.

The following mods are separate and require being enabled after Panzer Elite Three in the mod enabler:

Scenario2009 includes all 49 Ostpak East front scenarios

154 mb (Updated December 23 2010)

This adds 39 west front scenarios from the Monty vs Rommel/ Torch, Brit44 and Ostpak mod:

70 mb (Updated December 23 2010)

Enable as follows in Mod enabler window:
1. PanzerEliteThree
2. Scenarios2009
3. Scenarios2010

The three seamless terrain zips are reccomended for maximum enjoyment. These fix ground colors and flattens rivers and roads. Unzips to main Scenario/ Scapes folder directly, no mod enabler necessary.

This optional mod replaces US figures with British infantry. Enable last for convenient removal when not playing Brit scenarios or campaigns.
Can be disabled within a campaign.

No problem Glad you enjoyed it. Though the props definitely have to go to the Panzer Elite Modding community. These guys are definitely dedicated and they are still working on it. Of course a lot of that has to do with a lack of quality WWII tank sims with the only thing coming out recently some broken games made by some Russian Companies.
Is the 1.2 Patch necessary to be installed for the version supplied here at gog.com or is it already integrated?

That I am unsure of but I am pretty sure you have to apply the 1.2 patch since I believe it was fan made and not actually released by the company. I am unsure what GOG is patched too it doesn't say anywhere but I applied it any how and all my mods work. So I would go with updating it.
I applied the patch and it seems to work, at least with Ostpak. But if I enable PEThree it always crashes when I click go to start the mission reagrdless which mission or campaign I play. Any idea? I already set projectmanager.exe and pe.exe to win98 comp. mode.

Did you enable Ostpak first then enable PE3?
I did everything according to your step by step instructions.

Hmm. Did you install both parts of Ostpak? Ostpak has two separate downloads that need to be applied in order before you enable it. Well technically it has three with the 2009 scenearios which you need to enable after you enable PE3. That is a real big deal with this game when enabling mods if you do it out of order you will have to do a fresh install more then likely because it can get screwy.

I did exactly as you posted. I hope it is correct to enable all mods one after another in one modenabler session, or do I have to close and restart modenabler after installing each mod?

It does not matter as far as I know. I enabled Ostpak and PE3 one after the other. To be honest something got screwed up with what you did and since you haven't provided with the steps you took it is hard to figure out. This game is quite picky about how things are installed and enabled unfortunately. My only guesses based on the limited info you are providing is that you either didn't install the two parts of Ostpak before enabling, you enabled PE3 first or you have some corrupted downloads. Also did the enabler crash or did you shut it down? I know sometimes when it is enabling Ostpak if you ctrl-alt-del it will say the program is unresponsive when that isn't true it just takes a while to enable Ostpak because it is a rather huge mod.
Must be the hardware I use. After several reinstalls I tried it on another pc and it works there flawlessly. Anyway thanks for your help! Great Mods, now they are running :D
Only the Britpak doesn't get recognized by the modenabler, already checked the installation but it doesn't get detected.

Haha glad it is working. :D I will do some digging to see why the Britpak isn't working. I haven't tried installing it yet myself.
