I want to buy this game and I may get the second one down the line. But I am wondering, are there features on the Steam version that you cannot get with the GOG version? Is online multiplayer not supported or possible with the GOG copy? Does the Steam version get continued support and updates over a GOG copy?

I want DRM free, but I understand that removing DRM can have some costs.
