Not that the multiplayer is the main feature of this game, but is multiplayer working properly for this game? I haven't tried LAN b/c I don't know anyone else with a copy, but it seems that the in-game internet browser doesn't connect to anything.

I just fired it up and found 10 different internet servers running. You might have to hit the refresh button to see them.

I see that games still as popular for multiplayer as when it first came out.

now i/m thinking of the way quake engine games work, so this might have nothing to do with painkiller.... but, are you sure your 'source' is internet and not lan or favourites? Did you click refresh or get new list?
It's working now; turned out it was my overzealous firewall, 'protecting' me from Gamespy.
