Is this game first person only, or can it be played in third person?

I love the look of this and Outlast 2, but prefer to play in third person as first at any level of speed makes me ill. I suspect there's a fair amount of running in both these games!

First person was definitely the intended perspective (unfortunate for those like yourself as it is).

It's likely not what you're hoping it to be though (it's more of a free camera movement mod), but the user who uploaded the tutorial video has other videos that show off other portions of the game with it in place as well.
