Hi, well, although I said I wasn't going to do a new patch... well, here it is XD. That DOF thing let me a final bitter taste, and after more than one hundred hours spent in this patch, it was kind of annoying XD.
After raistlin9989 told me the problem, I really tried and tried but I wasn't able to fix it. Now after more and more trying XD, I think It's finally fixed.
This is a patch to play outcast at 640x480 fullscreen. Since the game isn't supposed to run at this resolution some problems appear

A WORD OF WARNING THOUGH, THE PERFORMANCE TAKES A SENSIBLE HIT. I really don't think there is something wrong with the patch, It's just that at this resolution there are more pixels to manage than at 512x384 and doing this DOF effect.. well, it takes time to process, anyway, any brave outcaster want to try it XD?, raistlin9989 maybe? ;D. Just keep the older V3 version near, just in case XD (it's a joke XD, also if I remember correctly the DOF effect can be shutted down in the settings of the game, changing the DOF to low)
As before, there are two versions of the patch, one with the main visor or rectangle, and another one without the visor, you can see the direference in these screenshots. That's the only difference.

Ha! I'm new to GOG. But I've been looking/trying and growing more tired and tired of this game when I tried to get it to work for the last few years. Then I saw GOG.com BY ACCIDENT...(was reading a wikipediapage..hence the helplessness..) Anyway...Great to see this forum is so supportive to get this game running on current machines. Amazing stuff, once again. Is there anything that's not working? I haven't found a single issue, now that the save screen and dof has been fixed?

hey broseph, let me ask u one thing. this patch is awesome but I still have black bars on the side of my screen?

I have both the CD version and the GOG version. It's 5.99, common ;)

Also wondering if this will work with the CD version.
And if so, will it fix any other issues (like mounting, timing, etc..) or is it purely a resolution fix (meaning I need to get the GOG version first before trying it). . ?

Does the gog version of the game fix anything other than the need for a cd?
Either way i think theres enough people around who would like the chance to run their CD/DVD version (fully patched) at higher resolution, i've seen this question asked a few times now and im sure theres many more who will see this in the future who would like it as well.
Please consider it Zenger as it would be greatly appreciated by all! :)
If i remember right the unofficial patch 4 fixes those things.
