I play a lot of other games and do not have this problem, but this game has overheated my computer three times now. I have an older computer, so any recommendations on reducing the demand while playing the game? Some of the other games I play include games like Stellaris, and No mans sky. I really like the game so any suggestions are helpful.

It's a Unity game, so unless developers directly address the issue, the only way to prevent overherating (and if your computer is actually overheating to the point of crashes, your cooling solution is inadequate) is to enable vsync or lowering maximum framerate (to ie. 60) in drivers.
