While I like receiving achievements just as much as the next person, is there any way to stop it giving me the exact same achievements every time I just purely launch the game? Not sure if it's an Old World issue or a Galaxy issue, or what.but every time I launch the game it gives me these achievements (get the dig and the message at the top of the screen and everything), and then updates my Galaxy listing to say I have "just now' earned them. Each and every time:

Christianity
Necropolis
Via Recta Souk
Good
Military Prestige
Strong Cities
Fountainhead

Be careful, this apparently may be tied into the bug where your save files stop updating and keep saving as the same turn.

It becomes a little bit more irritating each time you boot up the game.

I have the same problem. Everytime I start the game I get bombarded with achivements that I completed before... Is this GOG problem ?

I'm not sure, I think this is an artefact of the way we store achievements ourselves to share them across platforms. I'll report it internally

We've made a few fixes for achievements, does that still happen for y'all ?
And are you seeing those achievements on your GoG profile when logged in ?

Hey, thanks for the reply. It still happens even after the latest update but your second question made me think and I looked into it. Turnes out the achievements that are poping up are not in the achievements list in GoG. I looked thorugh those I have unlocked and the ones that pop up when I start the game don't appear in the GoG List. So I guess they are not getting saved correctly? Hope you fix this soon because it is really anoying to a place that I don't want to start the game sometimes because I'll get this annoying *ping* *ping* every time ...

Thanks for checking. We are working with GoG to try and fix the issue.

In the meantime, you can stop getting pinged constantly by disabling the GoG overlay in game. In GoG Galaxy, right click Old World and select Manage Installation, Configure, Features then untick the 'Overlay - Access GOG Galaxy features in-game' checkbox.

@Ferashy: could you please list a few of the achievements that pop up repeatedly but don't show up on your GOG profile like that?

@MohwakSolver - The achivements looks to be from one of my first games because they are - Win as Rome, Become the Warrior/Brave, Found Christianity, Build the Necropolis and thinks I think I did on one of my first playruns.

Six months on and this issue is not resolved. So I have to disable a whole platform feature to cater to one annoying implementation. Even the Galaxy client has moved on so much that the workaround is outdated since the settings have been realigned.

And yes, achievements from the first game won stick, Rome for me as well, seem stuck. But it happend before as well and they seem to notice recent ones.

Still happening to me. Every time I open the game, I get an achievement for playing a single player game. Tried reinstalling the game but the problem persists.

Now that I switched achievements off and on again, my Rome win is gone. So maybe that is a symptom of an error storing the achievements...?

I am suffering from the same problem.
It is so annoying to keep hearing the incessant sound of the achievements (the same ones repeated over and over) every single time I boot up the game.
Is there a solution for this?
