I'm having the same issue. From what I've seen, this has been a problem since the game's initial release and I've seen no real assistance offered other than steam edgelords telling people gamepads are inferior. I've also seen no fixes or workarounds from the game creators.

Anyone found a fix yet? Am thinking of buying this during the sale, but might not if no controller support.

It's working fine for me - I'm using a wired official X-Box controller if that's any help. All I have to is make sure it is plugged in before I start the game and choose the Gamepad (I think it's called) option in settings and away it goes. To be fair I did have to click a couple of times for it to be recognised. Hope this helps someone.

I had the same problem, to solve it I unplugged the usb dongle for my Logitech keyboard and then started the game, it then recognised my wireless 360 controller, so I saved settings, exited the game, plugged the Logitech usb dongle back in and started the game again multiple times and the controller is still working fine.. hopefully this might help..
