Relevant setup specs:

GTX950 (Driver version 457.30)
Logitech Wireless MX Master Mouse (also tried with a basic wireless mouse)
- Mouse Pointer Precision disabled
Windows 10 64-bit (OS is up to date)
Game purchased from Steam

I cannot look around the environment (mouselook). The mouse is fully functional in game menus (buttons, mouse movement, etc.) but I can only use the mouse BUTTONS in the game. The only time mouse movement works is when menus are activated, the wrist comm is activated, or (strangely) when it's allowed during cutscenes. The keyboard is fine.

I've tried running the game in different modes (normal, DX11, DX12) with no luck.

Anyone else seeing a similar issue?

Last night I just discovered by accident that I can move the character with the gamepad and control the view with the mouse at the same time, so I'm thinking that the problem is something in your computer.

You could try this:

- Do you have any gamepad to test the game with? Just to see if you are able to move the camera using it.
- If you are gaming on a laptop try the touchpad. Can you look around with it?
- Try disabling the touchpad, and then try with the mouse (wired one better).
Have you tested if you encounter the same issue with the game Demo? This could be interesting to do.
- Are you using any programmable/configurable keys in any of your games? Try to disable it, if the answer is yes.
- Delete mouse drivers and reinstall it.
Thanks for responding.

I have tried the game with a wireless keyboard/gamepad device, and the same thing is happening. Unfortunately the only wired mouse I have is an old PS/2 one that doesn't work (just tried it).

Is there a way to disable the controller in the game?

Also, I can't seem to find the demo for the game anywhere. Now that the full game is released, the demo doesn't seem to be available.

There's no problem, your're welcome.

I don't know if there is a way to disable it in game right now, but you can always look for the .ini files of the game and disable it from there (i guess).

"Win + r" then type "%appdata%" (without quotes) and press enter, search for AppData\Local\ObserverSystemRedux\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor, there the .ini files you can try something (the path could be something diferent due Steam)

Another thing you can try, on Steam just clic in the upper left side of the app, "steam > parameters > gamepad or imput", there you have options to fully customize the controller, you can create a template for especific games, maybe could disable controller for the game (never tried it myself)

It could be also that some Windows update is causing a problem. But checking if this is the case and if everything works with Windows Update is more difficult and tedious.

Also, since you are playing on steam, you can try this too, is a workaround I found for a similar problem (mouse/keyboard working on menus but not really in game) from 2K support. I don't know if this works, but you can try it:

- Disable Steam Cloud.
- Delete all files in Steam\userdata\SteamID\AppID.
- Start the game to create fresh (and thus different) new files.
- Exit the game and Steam.
- Delete remotecache.vdf in Steam\userdata\SteamID\AppID.
- Start Steam.

Here's the link.

Hope something help you

Hey Carbonseed.

All of that was actually helpful in further troubleshooting.

I found a PS4 controller and I was able to replicate the issue in-game! The right joystick (which is normally for camera movement) doesn't respond except when in menu-mode. I can also now confirm that the controller is disabled in the main Steam settings, and for the game itself (this is also hidden in the Steam settings).

I have submitted a ticket to the game devs, so we'll see if they can get back to me. As a (poor) workaround, I've got keyboard bindings that enable me to play the game, but it's just very awkward. Like playing the original Wolfenstein 3D or something. :D

Thanks very much for your help. I'll leave this thread open in case anyone has experienced the same issue with mouselook that I have.

Hi again,

That's weird, a lot, I've never heard of anything similar.
Hope the developers find the solution to your problem.

And yes, the keyboard workaround... If you're feeling a bit nostalgic, I suppose it will work for a while, but pretty awkward after the feelings just pass :D

We will have to wait and see if someone has the same problem or a solution for this.

Good luck!
