Back in the day, Noctropolis was one of my favourite games, so even though GOG doesn't have a Linux version (does anyone know if there's a port on the way?), I gave it a try and installed on my Linux machine to see how it worked.
Distribution: Xubuntu 15.04
Wine: 1.7.50
WineHQ: Noctropolis isn't included in Wine's AppDB, so if one of you is a Wine database maintainer, feel free to add the game with my findings.
(Based on my experience, I'd say it could be classified as Silver, but maybe I'm too generous.)
What works: Most things, really... Of course, I've just started to play, so maybe there's some nasty bug somewhere. If I discover something, I'll keep you posted.
What doesn't: No sound! No Voices... No Music... No FX. Nothing. (You can select subtitles, of course, so it's not a game-stopper, but the game is much less enjoyable.) Needless to say, I tried changing the volume to 100%, but it doesn't work.
What I'm not sure if it's a Wine problem: I can't change the language. I downloaded the Spanish version, but the game is in English, and I can't change it. (Again, it's not a deal breaker for me, but still).
So if some one of the Linux gurus from the GOG community knows a way to bring the sound back to Noctropolis, it would be much appreciated!

There is one report of it working flawlessly on OS X with wine 1.9.2 in Wineskin (Wineskin Winery 1.7, Wrapper Version 2.6.2). I would update to a newer version. There have been several audio related commits since wine 1.7.50.

Thank you, Gydion! Actually, I was going to update my previous post saying just that... But you were faster than me!
Yes, sound works with Wine 1.9.2.
But the language selection issue remains... And, as I said,I suspect this is not a Wine issue.
I downloaded again (and double-checked it was the Spanish version), just in case I downloaded another version the first time.
But the sha256sum is the same in both exe files, and the installer only lets you choose between English, German and French. So definitely not a Wine-only issue.
I'll mark this thread as closed and fill a support request to add Spanish.
Again, thank you!

Hi. When you download the game, you should be receiving the files for all languages. The actual setting of text language is done from the Advanced Options menu, which you get to by right clicking the screen, picking SETUP from the pyramid menu, and then clicking the "ADV. OPTIONS" button at the top. On this window is a menu of multiple options, one of which is Language. Note that text in the room you're currently in will not change to the selected language until you leave and come back, but UI elements will update automatically.

Thank you, haleyjd! I knew about the advanced options menu (as I said, I played many times twenty years ago... God, I'm old), but I was unable to select another language with my mouse.
But language CAN be changed using cursor keys (even if there's no hint about it in the GUI, like arrows).
And, as you said, you need to go to another room before the changes take effect (but language selection is saved for your next game).
So,everyhing works! Thank you again for your help, and now... Let's enjoy Stiletto's spinning dropkicks!
PS: Apologies for been unable to mark this thread as [SOLVED]... I didn't know I had to tick something for that when I created it. Well, at least I know now! (If the GOG Administrators are reading this, you can mark this thread as solved, of course.)
I'll see about making that selector UI more consistent in case of a future update.
