WebJunkie: We could rebind keys back in 1999 though.
I just randomly installed a game from 1999 that's in my library, Descent 3, and could remap all the keys I needed :) But will these devs stop with the console/gamepad mentality for PC games?
Sr. Chalice: Can't argue with you there, everything got consolized. My biggest pet peeve is when you have a whole keyboard and you can't press 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. They want you to hold down a key then cycle through abilities. Then press the "use key". That has been happening a lot. Because of that I'd never play a From Software Game, but them seem to get a pass from the PC community, hence why this mess is still going on. If you care about the game that much, send a message to the devs, hopefully they'll make an update and you can enjoy. If not, I'd say fuq 'em and move on to the next. Because you really shouldn't have to do NONE of what I suggested. Good Luck, my fellow gamer.
I don't think I will bother as the devs seem to be controlled by the publishers so nothing will get done! A case in point is Firmament, this had WASD hard coded and no rebind but one of the devs said (this April) that Cyan are aware and it's under consideration but the last patch was released 1 year ago so guess what will happen!!
Strangely, Cyans last game before Firmament was Obduction and you could rebind keys in that game, go figure!!
Reading the Steam forums about NWTD, it's just a walking sim / interactive story that hand holds you every step of the way so you never have to think, the game literally tells you what to do so it's not really a detective game as you don't have to discover anything for yourself just do what the game tells you to do! Plus it's very short, 6 hours or so which is all too common nowadays and the checkpoint save system means you can't take a decision back and restart from an earlier save, yet another console mechanism shoe horned into pc games!!
You don't need to rebind keys, this isn't the game you're looking for, you can go about your business, move along, move along!!
