I just noticed that there is nothing in the game for you to add your name. So! How are others supposed to know that you
or I discovered certain things? Also. Everytime i check my discoveries it says at the bottom of the screen that i am not connected and is states i need to hit X to connect. I hit X and nothing seems to happen. All of my discoveries are check as updated but im not so sure.

You need to use Galaxy for the online components.
If it says "Discovered by Explorer" instead of your GOG account name, you're offline.

Not sure. Well, forthcoming discoveries should work but I think what you have already discovered is saved as "Discovered by Explorer" and I think that won't change after the fact

edit.. I just went in to look because I know I had a few "Discovered by Explorer" because I got kicked offline for some reason, but now every planet is discovered by my username so I guess it changes.
I did however start playing with Galaxy so I have no idea how it works if you start playing without it and then start using it. Hopefully it won't affect the saved games and stuff :/

so take a backup first I guess. Copy the NMS folder located in C:\Users\Your Windows Userame\AppData\Roaming\HelloGames (or hit Win-button + R, then type %appdata% , then browse to HelloGames folder)

So! I take it everything ive already discovered was a waste of time. Im connected now but its telling me that everything was discovered by an explorer

Thank you for your reply. I didnt have any problems importing the game. It was already in a GOG folder. But! None of my discoveries have changed to my name yet. Crossing my fingers. When i started retracing my steps it says ive already discovered creatures that i discovered as an explorer

I did the same thing, and at first it did not update them, but later on I noticed it did update everything to my user name.

They finally updated to my name :-D Thats cool. Thank you all for your responses
