So many videos of Sean Murray on many different talked show all showing the same thing over and over how when asked can players see themselves he say "No", but then when asked if players can see other players he says "Yes, but I expect it will be rare". From what I have been seeing people are saying that is a outright untruth.

Can anyone confirm at all if people have been able to see each other or did he lie outright ?
Sadly it is an outright lie and players can not meet each other, for now anyhow.
From the looks of work needed for it at best it will show up as dlc but more likely never be a thing.
That, and many other outright lies.
plus the game was shielded from any type of review prior to release, so there was nothing to counter these lies.

Deliberate strategy part on the developers part, and it worked.
Let's jusst hope that most of are once bitten twice shy.
I think the galactic map navigation system is a bad joke, part of me wonders if they made it that way to try and shield Sean Murray's lies then. After all make it tough to navigate and you make it tough to get to other players planets.

I cannot believe none of his team members at any time told him "Sean, you need to stop telling folks they could meet as you are not telling the truth" Not cool.......
So presumably it's a feature they're working on... and they didn't expect people to be able to find each other's locations so quickly?

I suspect it's more likely that they planned to have multiplayer, but it proved unworkable for one reason or another. All they needed to do was be honest about it, but Sean kept obfuscating around the question, or saying "Yes" to everything when asked. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but promising something that you cannot deliver, and then failing to divulge this information, does rather make you look like a bit of a tick.
One of two possibilities is in games,

Naming a world is there. Traveling to an unmarked location isn't.

Imagine if you could search up the planet your buddy made and just meet up there problem solved. Its not that it is impossible, they just left out the feature to do so. The way modding seems to be progressing who knows.
