Is it impossible to make the jump after picking up the double jump item in the boss stage of world 4 or am I just to stupid to figure out how to do it right?

You're the second person to report that today. I'm going to look into it. World 4 is currently the last world though.

Well if World 4 is the currently last one available not being able to make this jump does make sense. Otherwise you would proceed to World 5 which is not ready yet and that would probably softlock or crash the game. So I see this one as a intended barrier.
