Hi. this is my first post. By way of introduction: I have a dozen or so GOG games, including ones I previously owned on CD but bought here as well to support GOG.
I've been having no luck getting started with Night in the Woods, and I spent a hour or so googling for solutions, none that worked. Here's what I get: I start the game and get to the seemingly live launch screen, music, graphics, the StartNewGame/Options/Play/Exit choices on the right. My mouse cursor won't show up, whether full screen or windowed (in Windowed, my cursor shows up fine outside the game window). My arrow keys will cycle the choices, but the Enter keys won't activate any choice. My mouse is working in my old school games Beneath a Steel Sky, Planescape:Torment, Baldur's and all other, newer, games I try, just not this one.
I checked my mouse settings, made sure I didn't have the usual "Enhance Precision" "Display Pointer Trails" fancy cursors or themes activated. I kinda doubted the whole mouse thing being a problem anyway since my keyboard has limited functionality too. Now, I've never used a console and don't know anything about them really, but I wondered if this game on my machine is looking for joystick control or something, especially with the weird way my keyboard is working. Anyway, I could use some help here, and maybe you can provide it, neighbor?
I'll add that I've tried a few resolutions on this game, by holding down the Shift key when doubleclicking the launch icon, to bring up the resolutions screen. Tried several different resolutions, including matching my monitor resolution, and also changed my monitor resolution to match a lower game resolution. No luck there. I've also run the game in Win 7 compatibility mode, with Administrator's rights. And that's about all i can remember trying.
