After finishing the first map of the North Road, I journeyed to the Green Griffon Inn. I found out about Mutamin's challenge and then left to level up elsewhere. When I reached level 10 I journeyed back to play Mutamin's Challenge. When I entered the basement, I encountered a Queen Spider, which I eventually killed. I found some remains of some armor and a bastard sword, but no Jaroo to pay 500 gp to! Is there a way to fix this, or do I have to go back to my original save at the Green Griffon Inn and start over two levels and many hours earlier?! Please help!

You found a queen spider as soon as you entered the basement? What is the exact name of the area?

It's called The Green Griffon Inn Basement when the location loads.
Did you previously start the challenge and then leave? There's no way for a Queen Spider to get into "The Green Griffon Inn Basement" otherwise that I can see while looking in the toolset...
It sounds like you might need Summon Jaroo. This ancient and powerful spell is cast through the console cmds:

~
DebugMode 1
dm_spawncreature m2q05cjaroo
DebugMode 0

he will actually be a summoned creature on the floor at the cursor and he can be dismissed like a normal summon. the identifier used for creatures with this command is their resref, not their name or tag
