Sithdad: What I love about Higher Ground is that you don't have to do the "lowbie quest grind" like you find in other MMORPG's. I don't have to go out and collect 800 items for some xp. The pre-immortal tag system makes leveling up quick and fun. You're not grinding away in one area for ages. You're always moving around going to new areas of the mod in search of the next tag. Each tag offers special benefits to the player and when all the tags are acquired you get another bonus for collecting them all.
I might have to check this out sometime just because of hearing about this.
A chief reason I never got into online NWN servers much in the past was because most of them used rulesets (especially HCR) that had just the opposite effect - established characters had a fun pulse pumping challenge, as I understand it, but new characters were pretty much screwed unless you happened by at a time where you could have others to help you (and even then, as anyone who played BG1 can recall, you're still just a dice roll away ...). Try to start solo? Welcome to not seeing much but the character creation screen, starter area, and the bloody danged Fugue Plane ... :P
Sounds like they've managed to avoid this pitfall though :)
