I already own the vannila copy of the game but never got the expansions are they worth it by getting this game and the expansions?
Mask of the Betrayer makes the original game cry. Definitely worth it.
MotB is the best part of the game but the Zehiir expansion also adds new features and is somewhat engaging. The Westgate premium mod is also interesting and adds unique situations and a return to baldurs gate style quests. Also there are many mods and campaigns available for download that use the new features, some good ones are still under development and near completion (Lake of Sorrows campaign)
Well worth it, the expansions are fantastic, especially Mask Of The Betrayer which is one of the greatest rpgs ever imo.
Also, check out custom content, user-made modules, and persistent worlds at the Neverwinter Vault. Each EP added features that benefited content creation, especially Storm of Zehir.

Yeah, well worth it.

With the caveat though, if you hated NWN2 you (probably) won't love the expansions either.

MotB is awesome, but it's also a different setting and hits you with a curse that alters the gameplay a whole lot.
Not a traditional D&D adventure by any means.

Mysteries of Westgate on the other hand is a much more traditional city adventure. A great and well presented one at that.

Storm of Zehir on the third hand, is a fun romp through the jungle and other areas. An old skool "create your own party" thing that was the most fun to play of these all. Hint. Make at least one druid and pick the feat that allows for a raptor animal companion, those were awesome.

Bought these all at list price when they came out and regretted none.
Thanks all I bought the game :)
There are some things you need to know about Neverwinter Nights 2.

It's somewhat buggy (the expansions much less so).

There are long load times.

The game does not run that well on older computers (or fast computers from during its time of release).

The combat really kinda just sucks - not even a difficulty problem and more just the way the engine handles everything.

It can be crash-prone.

The original campaign is horribly generic and features way, way too much filler. It's badly paced, boring, and while it has some bright spots (the trial sequence in act 2 is awesome, and upgrading Crossroad Keep is fun), you may well find yourself growing tired of it very, very quickly.

If you are willing to put up with that, then you will find literally hundreds of hours of solid to excellent RPG gameplay, with fairly nice graphics and an excellent soundtrack. It is very "old school" in terms of the way it plays, which is a style that's in short supply for a lot of RPG fans these days.

Additionally, the expansion packs are all excellent. Mask of the Betrayer has the best story/world/choice & consequence to it of any game Obsidian has made since KotOR II, and feels very Planescape-like, while Storm of Zehir captures the tabletop feel with very heavily mechanics-driven play - Obsidian managed to make all those D&D skills and feats actually useful. Story in Zehir is not really interesting and arguably it's a bit of a "failed experiment", but it's still worth playing.

I haven't played Mysteries of Westgate just yet, however, I have it on good authority that it is a very good RPG, and highly underrated.
Well correct me if im wrong but i remember when i first time played it, the vannila I had the chaotic evil edition. I killed a merchant who was attacked by bandits saying that I only killed tjhe badits cause they were going to steal my loot And I helped attacking the city guard so i had diffrent quests, dont know how it would happen if i played good that its gonne be difrrent.

It was publisher-butchered in a way that made me feel real bad for the developers (Ossian studios).

Not released as boxed, only as a downloadable and not from any usable store like Steam, but only from Atari's own unusable hack-store. Zero advertising of course and filled with phones-home-every-time DRM as well, when that had been found a disaster with NWN1.

MoW never had any real chance of success, it went past totally dark below the radar.

NWN2 OC - meh
NWN2 MOTB - a must play game. really don't miss out on it.
NWN2 SOZ - its a decent game with an interesting twist. still fairly buggy, plot a bit shallow.

NWN2 OC was completely unplayable due to bugs until mask of the betrayer, as atari forbade obsidian from spending time bug fixing and refused to release anything they would fix on their own dime.
Some employees posted on forums that they wanted to fix some of the bugs at home at no pay but atari refuses to release patches due to their policies... (not the first time a publisher did that either). I imagine this is major part why they turned to crowd-sourcing with project eternity.

MOTB fixed the official campaign (sly obsidian :P) but was itself unplayable (even after patches) until SOZ fixed it.

SOZ was unplayable, it never got to the never of stability of OC and MOTB due to lack of an official expansion to it where obsidian could slip in the bug fixes... But it did get more post release patches. Its playable but buggy.

Mysteries of wessengate is a 3rd party expansion courtesy of the mod tools they released with the game. fan made modules for NWN1 comprise some of the best game made ever, on par with planescape torment even (and a lot of meh and outright bad ones of course... there are thousands of them to wade through).
NWN2 has custom modules but it never seemed to get that kind of modder love.

TL:DR
With all the patches MOTB and OC are stable and not all that buggy. sure there are bugs but they are small minor things you can handle. SoZ is a big more buggy but still playable

In my opinion I find it to be totally worth it, was an insta buy for me.

Surely it has it's technical problems but as already been said, It's a great game nonetheless.

The only real issues I had with NWN2 happened with cutscenes not firing in the final act. Fortunately, reloading the game got me around that the few times it happened. As with most (all?) RPG's, save often and keep several different save slots.

Mask of the Betrayer was excellent.
but is the original campaign still playeble because mob is a high lvl campaign and i rather lvl my char up at my own pace.
yes it's worth it, I tried a bit of all the campaigns to get a feel for them. The original campaign seemed very good, but the expansions seem really, really well made.
