It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

nsbox: I have just recently purchased this program and it doesn't seem to want to run on Windows 10. The toolset works. NWN does nothing after it ask if I want to allow it to changes to my device.

I have changes compatibility and set to run as administrator.

Any suggestions?

Goodaltgamer: I really don't know what it is....

I would really like to ban Win10 from the world.....

It is f*cking directx 9.0c....

just a few threads down.

https://www.gog.com/forum/neverwinter_nights_series/nwn1_andor_nwn2_windows_10

Are people too lazy to read anymore?

Or even just 2 posts up, DIRECTX 9.0C !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not attacking you in general, BUT WHY DO PEOPLE NOT READ A BIT MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I personally already told like 20 people here on the boards directx9.0c and directplay....

But no, we expect others to do the job for us....
Oh did I mentioned, it SAYS SO ON THE F*CKING store page:

mended), NVidia, ATI/AMD or Intel 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 7 (>>>>>compatible with DirectX 9 recommended<<<<<), Mouse, Keyboard.

Goodaltgamer: rant off.....

sorry being a bit tired and a bit 'pissed' off....

For precise links just check via google or whatever for my username and include directx and directplay in the search.....

Afterwards the game shall start without any problem. IIRC no comp. setting needed (but not sure ....so don't nail me for it :P )

Follow the hints i posted with those downloads.

Have fun and peace ;)

PS: AND NOW GOG IS PISSING ME OFF AGAIN, THIRD ATTEMPT TRYING TO POST IT JUST BECAUSE I FORGOTTEN ONE LITTLE THING, IT DOESN'T LIKE A SPECIFIC WORD F*CK YOU
Thank you for your rant. I did try the DirectX 9c download from microsoft. It told me I needed Windows XP or earlier and would not let me install it. But I will read over your diatribe and see if I can gleem anything worth while. And were you telling me F*CK YOU? Seeing how you had to include it in this reply?

Was not directed at you, right? (GOG and their f*cking stupid system)

And nowhere did you mentioned you tried directx, right?

Don't use web installer....as I said, search for the words I mentioned and you will find the right link to download the full package.

And again, as I said, always the same....not enough info or effort from your side.....Hey, I could have also just ignored it, right? As not enough info.....and don't get me wrong, all the time the same, no info, you were just unlucky to get hit by my lightning ;) So I was only (kind of) returning the favour and as I said not meant personal ;)

Oh, and F*CK MS for spreading lies....9.0c can be installed on Win10 and is needed as I said (store page), Dito for directplay. (maybe not for NVM but for a lot of other games....)

changochaos: So I was able to fix the issue myself and I hope this helps anyone here having this problem. I found this on another forum, simply go to the directory where the game is and change the nwmain.exe to something else. I named mine gamenw.exe and it plays with no problems.

I tried some of the fixes labeled before and while they worked once or twice, something would still cause the game to crash. I don't know how or why but this fixed it for me.
This worked for me. Thank you!
was hoping maybe get a little help here... the nwn2 game won't launch for me, just get a black screen, with loading cursor, no audio.

i have searched all over looking for solutions and so far i have found AND tried...
downloading directx 9.0c
enabling directplay
changing the ini file to include safevideo and dissableintrovideo (i think thats what they was called)
changing the nwnmain.exe file name
changing the desktop resolutions
running compatability mode, windows xp (pack 3) AND run as administrator.

all with no change :( anyone here able to offer any help maybe found something i haven't tried?

windows 10
i5-2500k
gtx 770
10gig of ram

Narmy93: I tried all of the fixes in this post but found that the game would only work with sound completely disabled. As I understand it, NWN sometimes has issues with Realtek onboard sound chips, which I have. The solution was to delete the following files from my 'GOG Games\NWN Diamond\miles' folder:

msssoft.m3d
Msseax.m3d
mssds3d.m3d
Mssa3d.m3d

After deleting these files, the games runs fine with sound under RAD Game Tools or DirectSound3D in the sound options. I'm running Windows 10.

Hope that helps someone.
I registered on these forums just to thank you for your solution. This is the only one that works for me. Win 10. I tried all the other common fixes in various combinations & this worked. The last two motherboards I have bought were both very high end. Unfortunately they include Realtek hardware. I never use the onboard sound. I always buy a high end add on card.

Once again thanks.

I tried a number of solutions listed on many forums and was utterly lost. Hanging out next to the nwnman.exe file file was something called "oalinst" I clicked it, installed it on a whim, and now my game works.
Good luck out there everyone <3
OK I just bought a GoG copy of NWN
Was planning to run one copy through STEAM and one through GoG

Guess what, they both use the same Key so to a PW server it looks like I am already log in :(

Where are my Keys and why does my Server think they are the Same???

GoG.com -> your account -> games -> click the game -> more / click the arrow/

Thats for the diamond edition. I don't know about the EE. I see a key there too but it is ther first time I hear it needs one too.

There is a key changer for the Diamond editon. Just right click the game in GoG Galaxy and then to go additional execultables
