I got a quest from Frau Claudia in Cologne to find one of her girls who was hired for the night and never came back. The quest doesn't give you any clues on where to start looking, and I've been through every building in the city except the Chapter House. I'd really appreciate some help on where to start, hopefully as spoiler-free as possible. Thanks.

You're probably going to have a better chance of getting a response on the actual Bioware forums: http://forum.bioware.com/forum/43-neverwinter-nights/

There's simply far more people who visit that site than these forums. You might get lucky and have someone who knows what you're talking about stop by here...but better odds if you also post over there.

Just a thought.
Well, I found her. It turns out she's in the same place as someone else you're supposed to rescue, so that took care of it.

I have another problem now, though. Throughout the module, you get a few items called "Placeholder for storyline" 1, 2, etc. These are apparently supposed to unlock more dialogue in the later modules. I have 1, 2, and 4, but I seem to have missed 3. I thought it was because of a quest I forgot to do, so I went back and did it, but I still haven't gotten Placeholder 3. I'm nearing what I'm pretty sure is the end of the module, and I don't want to miss out on content later, so I need to know how to get Placeholder 3. Unless you get it at the end, and they're just out of order? I don't know.

I'm considering that, but do I need an Origin account to post there? The only "sign up" type button I found was for Origin. I'd rather not install Origin if I don't have to.

You need an account on their boards but that doesn't involve installing Origin at all. *IF* you installed Origin to play a game on Origin (aka, not NWN) then you'd use the same account info.

Did you remember to check the readme that should have come with the download?
There's a hints section, might have something you missed.

I think you can register online and access the forums without getting the client.

I checked the readme, and it doesn't say anything about any of the placeholder items. It also mentions a quest involving a werewolf, which is another thing I apparently missed. Unfortunately, the readme doesn't actually say how to start that quest. It just says "After you meet him, do this."

It looks like I'll have to ask around on the Bioware forums.

It's been a while, don't remember for sure.. but I think it was in the first woods map you enter in the beginning. Might have been the hubby of the woman in cave. Think you met them again right before the end.

The first woods map has someone called the "Mysterious Man". When you talk to him, you only get a popup about how he's mute and looks sad and resigned, and no one else has any dialogue options about him. If he's the werewolf, I don't know what I'm supposed to do to trigger the quest.

Really, I'm more concerned with getting that placeholder item. I've registered on the Bioware forums and made a thread, but it's not showing up. Is there some kind of delay or screening process there or something?

Did you visit the cave in that map as well? Can't remember details anymore.
Anyway, I think you meet them again before the very end and that's when the item is going to trigger.
Could be wrong though, but maybe just try to play on.

Yeah, I've been to the cave. I told the witches to hide there. Later, I told one of their husbands to go there, too. His name is Vuradush. Does that sound familiar to you?

Just so we're on the same page, are you saying that the werewolf and his quest are what will give me placeholder 3?

Also, I've actually finished the module at this point. I went through the final boss fight and everything. I didn't get placeholder 3, but for some reason I have two copies of placeholder 5. That's weird.

I only have one other idea of where placeholder 3 might be. At one point you come across someone called the "Mad Mage" who inexplicably knows stuff about you. Given that all the placeholders seem to relate to your character's backstory and personal life, it would make sense for the item to be there, but I talked to him about everything and didn't get any items. There was someone else there named Francesco who follows you around until you tell him to leave. I told him to leave because he kept bugging out and disappearing, I didn't know what to do with him, and I didn't want him popping up unexpectedly and screwing up a scene later on. I got 100 XP for telling him to leave, so it would seem that that's something you're supposed to do, but I don't know.

My thread on the Bioware forums finally appeared a few hours ago. No replies yet, though; I'll see how it goes.

In the worst case scenario, is there a way to give myself the item with a console command or something?

Don't know, I assumed it's something you do in the end,
but seeing how you didn't "help werewolf" and didn't get the holder, that seems to add up.

But I don't think any of that really matters much. Though I havent played all parts to the end.
Well, I was able to get some help on another forum. If anyone else ever has this problem, or if you've gotten here via Google or something, here's how to get the item with a console command:

Open the console
Type DebugMode 1
Type dm_spawnitem token3

The one I needed was number 3, so it was token3. I imagine the others are token1, token2, etc., though they're a lot harder to miss.
