Hi guys,

I was wondering whether any of you could recommend a module to me which is like 'A Dance with Rogues' in terms of how the world interacts with the player character.

What I mean by this isn't necessarily the specifics of the module (i.e. young female character, rogue, adult content), but that the main character has defined looks, backstory and skills that are referenced by other characters and determine the kind of dialogue choices you get and actions you can take.

The problem is that the whole 'random adventurer shows up in a tavern looking for a worthy quest'-thing simply doesn't work for me. In trying to find other modules to play, even the highly praised ones often end up being of this type, which inevitably leads to dialogue and role play that is both too generic to be interesting and too specific to match any character you've made up for yourself.

So, are there any other modules that are like ADWR in this regard (and ideally somewhat lengthy and RP heavy)? Modules with some defined backstory (like in Baldur's Gate) might also be nice.
You can try Cormyrean Nights. It not most defined but you kinda not just a random guy from the street, As a side effect - your character is kinda supposed to be good/neutral. There is Demonheart series which require you to be female figher/rogue/bard. Sanctum of the Archmage has you as a forest dweller living in specific place. All together its not the most well defined characters but decent

Pool of Radiance from nwn2 has a small part of yout backstory(but you are still and adventurer in tavern just during game you meet few "old friends" if its ok to say xD) and since its more polished remake of Nwn module of the same name I suppose you can check nwn1 version as well.

Book of Shaddowe.

Comes with a pre-defined character, custom portrait. I think people recognize you in game.

Very much Rogue module, Stealth oriented instead of combat.

IIRC, the lengthy Bastard of Kosigan series features a somewhat pre-defined character and heavy RP.

I also recall the standalone module Arandie having a pre-defined character. (I don't remember how good it was, it's not that well-known; I played it because the creator's name was familiar to me from the Unlimited Adventures community and I was curious what he had done with NWN).

A few more modules with RP elements and/or in which you have a pre-defined background or role, to varying degree, if my memory serves me right:

Gladiatrix series
Almraiven
and its sequel Shadewood (third part of the trillogy hasn't been released yet)
Prophet series
Sanctum of the Archmage series
Revenant
Deja Vu
