Imagine this scenario for example: You're on a quest to investigate the suspicious activities at the docks, you've already just talked with a hobo bystander that mentioned the location of the said suspicious activity (Which most of you reading this right now know what this quest is by that point) Now think of this, if you're running NWN 1 for longer on modern systems, there's a likely chance that the game will freeze and crash while you're fighting your way to the auction.

So my question is: Do you have any ways to prevent this game-crashing bug from ever happen again?

I've installed the community patch, CEP, PRC and project Q in my computer before you could complain anything.

I'm surprised, I never had this bug;
nor installed ProjectQ, so I guess it's a bug of this mod.

So remove the mod and you should no longer be surprised.

never had this issue, afaik NWN runs fine on modern hw and windows 10, the only issues are high resolutions and UI scalings...

project Q neither CEP affects anything in the vanilla game (unless you downloaded and play Project Q enhanced OC campaign - in such case it could be related to that...), while community patch does it should not be a culprit of this, this might be related to the graphic or audio drivers...

you can try tinker with nwnplayer.ini and these three values:

Client CPU Affinity=0
Memory Level=1
Memory Access=2
Max Memory Usage=64

this is setting I use, you can try affinity -1 or -2
