A shameless plug for my current PW, FRC.

Forgotten Realms Cormyr (FRC) is a persistent world and a roleplaying server with a focus on roleplay and character development. The server's setting is the Forgotten Realms country of Cormyr. The site boasts over 500 areas stretching from Thunderstone to Skullcrag, with support for character levels up to 40. There are many activities for all levels of players.

This server features ten real minutes per game hour, rather than the standard two.

Restrictions:

Races: All standard races in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting are allowed.RDD is allowed as are subraces though that's mostly for roleplay's sake.

Prestige classes: The shifter and shadowdancer classes are banned. The blackguard and purple dragon knight classes are allowed only via application. Prestige classes may only be taken at the 10th level or higher.

Multiclassing: The monk/druid and paladin/sorcerer multi-class combinations are not allowed.

Resting: Resting is only allowed in inns or with camping equipment, and is limited to once per four hours game time (40 minutes real time).

Leveling: Slow, quite a few characters over level 20 and only a few around level 30.

Farming: At character levels 1 through 6, the restrictions on farming are relaxed, but at higher levels no player character can visit any given dungeon more than once per week.

It should be noted that this server is very party-oriented, most areas will require a fully functioning (fighter, healer, rogue, magic-class) party to be most successful.

There's a lot of DM support and plots constantly going on, as well as the forums which are both OOC (Out of Character) and IC (In Character). There are player-run factions as well as event postings, IC stories and a good community of very knowledgeable folks. One of the goals of FRC is to adhere as much as possible to pen-and-paper DnD 3E.

Playing will require downloading the latest edition of the CEP which is totally free from NWN Vault.

Any questions feel free to ask. Note-My main pc there is a dwarf and my login is Dwarfneedsale. Feel free to shoot me a message:)
Hey! I'm very interested in finding a good PW with roleplaying elements, but I exclusively play magic classes in NWN. Usually a wizard. That 40 minutes between resting seems pretty restrictive for a low level wizard, particularly a generalist. It seems like I'd spend most of my time sitting on my hands waiting to get another spell or two. How do PW's with rest restrictions get around this? Thanks in advance!

Well that's actually changed, I should probably mention that. It's no longer 40 minutes tbh. Also, that's what roleplay is for:) Most of your 'off' time will be spent rping that wizard.

Eh, doesn't sound like any fun at all to me. It's not an adventure when you go out, are forced to use a spell, then have to wait half an hour or more before you can regain it. Roleplaying is excellent, but I usually only have an hour or two in the evenings to play as it is. Casting a spell once or twice an evening seems ludicrously non-wizardlike. I'm probably just not well cut out for a roleplay server :D

On a side note, I did try it briefly and people there were quite friendly, in a roleplayish way.

I just wanted to mention that FRC has a lot of 'casual' gamers, folks who can only log in an hour or two each night, or less often. They still find great ways to impact the server however, though I know that some folks are more concerned with leveling and if that's the case I'd recommend checking out the Action servers.

Cheers!
Hm, I am intrigued. Now I need to decide whether to buy on GOG (which may be a while), or just install the copy that my dad has. Which isn't Diamond edition.
