Hey there!

Welcome to the NeuroVoider GOG community.

I'm Thomas, half of the team who made the game.

Please enjoy your stay and feel free to mention me on the forum if you have comment or question that would require a dev to butt in.

Cheers!

Hi. NeuroVoider is a lot of fun!

But is there a way to run the game in a borderless window without the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen?
Also, will it be possible to have the menu default to the existing save point? Right now the user has to manually select the save to resume a game.

MrHelmut: Hey there!
Hi and welcome on GOG :)
I bought the game and it's really nice ! I really like it !

I only have a small issue with my gamepad : I've got two PS2 pad connected with a "Twin USB Pad" to my comp'. Almost everything is fine in game... I only have my right stick which has wrong axes ! (when I push it right, it aims down for example).
Fortunately, I found this thread : https://steamcommunity.com/app/400450/discussions/0/3223871682613470193/
I followed your instructions... and miracle, it's working ! :D
But I simply wanted to say to you that natively, my right stick isn't properly mapped in game (for my two pads). Not a big deal since you already provided a solution, but I wanted to share just in case ;)
Oh, and too that my usual player 1 pad is recognized as player 2, and there aren't any vibrations at all (but maybe it's normal ?). But here, really no big deal !

Something not dev' related... will we be able to at least buy the soundtrack on GOG ? It's really awesome !! I really hope we'll be able to get the deluxe edition :)

Thanks for the very good game !

Hey!

@IronArcturus: Can you drop me a screenshot of those black bars? What's your system? I suspect a Win10 bug.

@Splatsch: Cool that you managed to fix it with the tool! If you'd like to help us add it natively to the game, please provide the string that the tool produced once you configured your gamepad with it.

For the deluxe, we're in talk to add it to GOG, it's a bit of a mess to negociate because we don't own the full rights over what's in this version. I'll let you know!

Hi. I'm running Win7. The resolution is 1680x1050 px and I've attached a screenshot.

It looks like if the monitor is a 16:10 ratio then it will show the black bars no matter what resolution is chosen. Can you update the game so it will stretch the image so the bars won't show at the top and bottom of the screen?

Also, would it be possible to update the game so if there is a save file the menu will default to it? That would really help out too!

I hope I made not mistake... I directly hit the button "copy mapping string" and pasting result here :

03000000100800000100000000000000,Twin USB Network Gamepad PS2,platform:Windows,a:b2,b:b1,x:b3,y:b0,back:b8,start:b9,leftstick:b10,rightstick:b11,leftshoulder:b6,rightsh oulder:b7,dpup:h0.1,dpdown:h0.4,dpleft:h0.8,dpright:h0.2,leftx:a0,lefty:a1,rightx:a2,righty:a3,lefttrigger:b4, righttrigger:b5,

Hope this is what you needed :)
(Ijust noticed "rightsh oulder" which should be "rightshoulder" but it's certainly due to the length of the line pasted, except that the copy/pasting seems ok !)

And... do you think there is a hope for rumble support for me ?

Ok thanks ! I understand, this kind of things can be very complicated. But I really hope you'll manage to get it there, I really would like to buy it, so I wish you good luck ;)

By the way, I noticed a small bug (I think) : when you want to select a part during intermission = when you have to choose between Vision/Core/transport/Gun.L/Gun.R, you see at right of each category if there is something new (-NEW-). But for me, sometimes, even if I saw everything that was new in the category, I still see the "-NEW-" text next to the whole category when I go back to the menu where I select the category.

And when using a gamepad in main menu, mouse cursor doesn't disappear.
Sorry for the long message ^^"

@Splatsch I don't think it's a bug, it jut works different from what you expect. It does not matter whether or not you've seen the items, all items that you got during the previous level are marked new. Any category that contains one such item is marked new as well.

The album from which the soundtrack is taken is available on bandcamp: https://blood-music.bandcamp.com/album/the-wrath-of-code
I didn't check whether it corresponds 1:1 though.

@Thomas Thanks for the nice game. I played just over 5 hours of it so far and enjoyed it.

1. There may be a one-off in the run counter, I'm reasonably sure I had four runs, not 3 as the stats screen suggests.
2. It's a bit unfortunate that the options are only accessible from the main menu.
3. For my purposes the sound settings could be better. I guess that the volume levels are in steps is so it's a bit easier for controllers. However the range could definitely be bigger. If I turn it to the lowest level just above silence the music is still too loud for me to talk over. I turned it down another 6 dB in the sound server to get it where I wanted it. (to get an impression: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/284569020)
4. It would be nice if item management could be done a bit quicker. It would help a little bit if I could go through the list just by holding the stick left/right. Scrapping items by rarity (scrap all common ones) could also help.

Those are just minor gripes though, it's a great game for a two person team!
It's also my first twin stick shooter and as I suspected I don't enjoy these controls. Using two joysticks and four shoulder buttons is something I can't handle well, even after five hours (I used a Xbox 360 controller).
So unfortunately it's not quite my cup of tea, but it's a nice game and I wish you much success with it.
@Splatsch: thanks! I'll manage to get this in our next update. I'll check on the "-NEW-" thing as well, just in case.

@hollunder: thanks for the feedback! I'll check the stats. Yeah sound design is our limitations. This is something we really want to do better on our next game and we're going to hire a dedicated sound designer this time around.
when we will get new updates?
Steam latest: 57.13
GoG: 57.11
I just tried version 57.13 on Windows, and I've noticed that the borderless window bug is still there. Is this a ratio issue? Will this be fixed in the future?
Hello I have played through this game many times and really enjoy it but I have recently installed in to my laptop and when I launch it the resolution is way off. So much so that I cannot change it in options due to being only able to see about 1/3 of the screen and therefore not able to do anything in options. Otherwise the game loads and seems fine. Is there a fix for this?
