Okay, I brought a new computer not long ago with an updated version of Norton.

I transferred all my games via an external hard drive to it, including all the GOG games.

I tried to download Myst 3 today upon discovering it's been released and BAM, it said there was a virus called "Heur.AdvML.B"

I know this is a false positive as I tried to download one of the other games again (like Heart of China") to see what it says and again, it says "VIRUS! VIRUS! VIRUS!!!!!"

What can I do? I know it's a false positive, but I do NOT want to risk messing up my new computer.

It was the download file.

However, I have resolved this issue by installing the updated version of Gog Galaxy first. It seems to work fine now.

Even so, it's truly bizarre.

Yes, the same has just happened to me whilst installing Myst 4. The exe file contains Heur.Adv.ML.B, and according to Norton Security this is a high risk virus. I've emailed Cyan about this (Cyan didn't respond, so far, by the way).

I didnt get a "virus message" from either my Norton or Malware re. GOG's Myst 3. But this morning I purchased Myst 4installed it, and Norton wouldn't even let me run the application, saying Myst 4 had an heur virus. I had to go into NOrton,resotre the game, and tell it to exclude the file. I consider this a false notation, because I cant beleive GOG would allow heru virus-plagued games to be sold. Naive of me? I hope not.

Yea your right it is a false positive. The original disc version of the game used safedisc copy protection as windows no longer supports it any safedisc enabled game won't run from disc unless it was patched out. So ubisoft's fix on the forums was to use a cracked exe/dll from hoodlums v.1.03 cravk to make it run on modern OS's

It appears Norton considers all files that try to access certain data on your computer are unsafe:

"Heur.AdvML.B is a heuristic detection designed to generically detect malicious files using advanced machine learning technology. A file detected by this detection name is deemed by Symantec to pose a risk to users and is therefore blocked from accessing the computer. "

I think it's safe to run the Myst exe-files. If not, I will probably find out soon, when my computer starts doing strange things...
