I still don't know how I felt about Uru. I played the whole thing with the add-ons and such after it'd gone offline (didn't know it was online when I bought it), and while it was a good game overall, it left me with too many questions that never seemed to get any satisfactory answers.
I don't know if playing it live/online would have made a lot of difference, but I know playing it with other people present would certainly make it feel insanely different to the main games, as you'd no longer be alone.
Part of the reason for the lack of answers.... is the events that (theoretically) would've given answers, never happened. Ubi canned the first Uru Live, before it even really started. It was in the "Prologue" stage, when Ubi canned the original Uru Live. And well, GameTap's ideas on how Uru Live should be done.. caused more harm than good, really. So, all in all, it theoretically could've been awesome. It just never got that far, even in the year the GameTap version was running, but that might have something to do with staff shortages, etc. But, as mentioned above... Uru will be going open source... -- Or so Cyan says. Who knows if it actually will, mind you.
