After a little tweaking and playing around with settings, I've got realMyst running and stable at 1920x1080. The only problem is the absolutely god-awful FOV throughout the game.

There are some areas where it's better than others (somewhat inexplicably, the game seems to change the FOV in different areas), but I'm trying to do the Channelwood age and it's unplayable. The FOV must be something like 40, and I can't play for longer than five minutes without getting a headache and nausea.

I've read a few old forum posts that seem to hint at being able to modify a game_init.dat file to change the FOV, but that file doesn't exist anywhere in the game folder (Program Files (x86) or my AppData folder.

Can anyone help me out with this? If I can't increase the FOV then I don't think I can continue playing the game :(

(Running Windows 7 64-bit)

I can help you with getting to the file you're after at least.

game_init.dat is inside the archive sho.dni which you'll find in the game folder. You can pull it out of the archive with Dragon UnPACKer
I've noticed the weird channelwood FOV as well, but it never really grinded my gears that much, i guess after a few minutes of playing like that i get used to it...
But it could be nice if i could change it.

I'm also experiencing nausea playing Myst V. Does anyone have any suggestions for adjusting the settings?
I'm also interested in increasing the FOV. PC Gaming Wiki alludes to a config file edit, but as mentioned above, that file doesn't seem to exist for the GOG version of the game.

Is the FOV adjustable (or at least higher) in realMyst: ME?
