I'm finally working my way through the Myst series, and much to my dismay, as others have pointed out, the option for inverting the mouse with CTRL+I was removed from the game with the inclusion of ResidualVM as as the back-end of the game.

I'm digging through the bowels of ResidualVM to try to find anyway to add that feature back in, but the only thing I can find is a .CPP file in their source code. I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I'm not a coder. To make use of this file, am I correct in understanding that I would need to recompile the ResidualVM executable to include that code in?

If anyone knows a simple way to use the file, I'm open to instruction and suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

In the lasts ResidualVM daily builds they added the option to invert mouse, I am running it with my original CD`s. Apparently the GOG version is using the newest official build. You can test it onto the GOG version easily, and/or wait for the GOG version will be updated when a new stable official build is launched.

It's nearly 2022, and this capability still doesn't appear to have been included. Any solutions to this problem?
The ResidualVM project has been merged into ScummVM.
ScummVM's 2.5.0 official release is the first ScummVM stable release that supports Myst 3. And you can toggle invert mouse look using "Ctrl+I" while in-game.

I have tested this with ScummVM 2.5.0 and on a daily development build 2.6.0git

For Mac the command shortcut should be "Command+I" according to the manual, but I don't run a Mac OS, so I cannot check right away.
