It took me over ten years, but I've done it. I was never able to do it back then because of that stupid piano puzzle. I almost missed the Rime age, but thanks to a walkthrough I've finally seen everything.
Congrats. At this rate it may be another 15-20 for Riven. :)

yes I finally finished myst also & that piano puzzle had me stumped, until I worked out setting the speed of the mouse to slowest setting allowed me to move the slider to the correct setting. The only myst game I could never finish until now.

I have a lot of respect for anyone that can finish Myst, even partially using a walkthrough.
I'm playing realMyst right now and boy it's crazy hard to figure out what i need to do. Trying not to use walkthroughs, but it looks like i'll end up taking a peek at one if i can't figure more out in the next few days.
Recently I've bought real Myst and played through without a walktrough. Of course I had done that (played witha walktrough) many years ago, but I didn't remember most of it anymore and I was impressed with myself for being able to finish it all by myself now.
I solved the piano puzzle by moving the sliders tone by tone and counting them to match the right sound based on the piano positions rather than the actual sounds.
