Does anyone know if gog will eventually sell all the Myst games?
I would love to see these games too. I never actually had the chance to play Revelation, but I remember I really liked Exile. I'd love to be able to complete my collection here on GOG.

Is there a reason why Myst 3 and Myst 4 are just not on GOG?

Legal matters? License matters? Or what?
I too wonder what possible issues could be holding Revelations from the GOG.com store. I've thought perhaps it is because Revelations was developed, not only published, by Ubisoft, so perhaps they hold that separately from the rest of the series as part of a contract they had with Cyan Worlds?
As far as i know Exile and Revelation aren't available anywhere as a digital download and it's been that way for a while. So yeah, looks like a rights issue.
By the way, here are the threads about those games in the community wishlist: Myst III and Myst IV. Make sure you vote!

Revelation still works on my IBM PC (slow). I thought they weren't available on GOG because they still work in the original form. Haven't tried Exile in a long time..
I'm curious, too, as to why Exile and Revelation are not available anywhere.

I'm skeptical that it's licensing issues since GOG has other games available from both Presto Studios and Ubisoft. Even Uru and Myst V were published by Ubisoft, and it didn't stop those from being released. I'm not saying I know for sure, though, as I'm no lawyer, so I don't really know what kind of legal entanglements might actually be involved.

I suppose it could also be technical issues. I believe someone from GOG said that the reason they don't offer the DVD version of Riven is because of some video format it used. Perhaps the same is true of Exile and Revelation. Uru and Myst V went full 3D, so they wouldn't have that issue.

However, I wonder if it's simply the case that since Cyan Worlds did not develop those games, they don't consider them canon, and thus don't want to re-issue them. I'm not aware of Rand Miller making any such statements, but maybe it's a possibility?
I still have Exile on a DVD, suspect that it can be made to work on Win7. Maybe I'll try one day, though a GOG copy would be nice in any case. Will forever regret not buying Revelation when it was available...

If that was the case it would most definitely be a licensing issue, if there wasn't a split stake between Cyan - IP owners, and UBI - Publishers, on those two games how would Cyan be able to stop UBI from selling them?

It's a licensing issue allright but it's not about canon, it's about what it's always about, money.

I've installed exile & revelations on win 7 64 & it istalls fine plays okay also. does not display full screen however.
my original dvd's version are from the anniversary pack. exile runs with 98 compat mode & revelations none needed.

I have similar experiences. Played Myst and Riven last weekend and couldn't wait for GOG to release Myst 3 and 4, so I bought physical versions. I was lucky enough to find the trilogy (cd version) and part 4 (dvd) for about 30 dollars in total (incl. postage) secondhand on amazon. What a find :) The trilogy arrived today in pefect condition and I'm happily playing Myst 3 on windows Vista 32 bit, no compatibility needed or anything. It also displays full screen. I don't know what that means for windows 7 and 8, but if vista can do it ...

If you can find myst 3 and 4 affordably online somewhere, I definitly recommend the original versions.
