If you're okay with begging the dev/publisher for updates only to wait weeks and finally get an update that's old and crusty... then you're safe to buy here on GOG... if that's not okay with you, then steer way clear of this hot mess... this developer is not equipped to handle anything more than one store at a time

Refund time!
I just want to say that CDPR is not the problem now...

Team17 continue to dicrease his reputation again and again...

@Team17: when we launch a game on different platform, we maintain that on all platform, or you're publish your game on 1 platform only !!!

Mawthra: this developer...
Mind your words, would you. It's not the developer's fault (Pathea Games), but the publisher's (Team 17).

Too bad about the news though... I was hoping for some improvement.

Really? Then why is it that countless people used the admin@pathea.net email to inquire about it and not a single person got a response? The publisher and the developer are both to blame

I already stated in one of the other threads that I actually got a response from Pathea, stating that Team 17 would publish an update on GOG within this week. Why it takes ages for them to do so, the developers don't know and Team 17 wouldn't tell them.

Not an excuse, when the developers have access to the simple single script method of pushing changes direct to the GOG servers for Galaxy users to then get instantly... so no, I won't give them a pass on that because they have the ability to push the updates to GOG minutes after they push them to Steam

How are you so sure they have access to those scripts? It's who has keys (password/login) to that account that counts. If gog has contract with T17, then it's T17 who has access, and dev can do exactly zero about it (other than complain to their T17 contact).

Read it... "every developer" is their wording, not mine

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_is_it_truly_more_difficult_for_developers_to_update_their_games_on_gog/post71

"First things first, let me tell you that we do have a devportal open to all our partners, not only for those who are implementing Galaxy features. Within this portal every developer can get a hold of our build delivery tool that works exactly like steampipe - updating a game on GOG is a matter of executing a single script."

Don't cherrypick, please. Another quote from same source:
that we do have a devportal open to all our partners, not only for those who are implementing Galaxy features
PARTNERS. The post was writen in "humanese", not "lawyerese", you can't take every word literally, you have to apply some common sense too. Most of that post talks about partners, developer is used only once.

They all have access to it... I have a ton of games on GOG and even single developer games without a publisher still use the script... you can get hung up on the terminology, but they all have access to it

If you read that quote, he starts out referring them as "partners" then refers to them as "developers"... it's pretty clear

It is one in two's folly. The developers need to better understand these things and realize they need to put out updates on all platforms same day to maintain community cohesion. The Publisher needs to back this and ensure they work in line with the developers to ensure community cohesion through the proper channels and updating.

They are both to blame, Pathea is simply "competent" and T17 is known for offbrand trash. This game has a load of potential, and I am honestly enjoying my time with it (thanks to mods) and learning how to get past ingame issues the manual way, which I don't expect others to be willing to do and that is 100% understandable. I would however prefer a good guddam chocolate chip cookie (Zaheed Memes) and proper updates on this platform.

Ah, Mawthra, good to see that link again lol. ((XX-121))

Ooooh I'm getting an update finally.... It's thicc too. Maybe this will include all the updates Steam got.....

*Puts on glasses* 3.1 Gigs.. hmmm. And here I was about to reinstall Dark Souls 3.

Glad you found it, haha

But sadly, that update today that GOG got is old
It's old? God damnit.... Why not just put us on the same build as Steam? Fuckin ell...

I do have tons of games on GOG too, some of them with GREAT steam-parity track record. If dev doesn't have publisher, the situation is clear. They are devs and partners at the same time. And all of it is irrelevant to the mess we have here.

I'm not getting hung on terminology, you are trying to twist words to mean much more then they really do. Common sense tells me that having contract and being partner with GOG trumps being dev. Script is not all-powerful, it could prepare package for galaxy, but if it doesn't have credentials for dev portal then it's T17 who has to upload that package. They could of course share their access with Pathea, it would be reasonable thing to do... no idea why they didn't do so yet.

I'm not trying to defend anyone. Just that if there is to be public hanging^Wshaming, I'd like to at least get the right criminal, for something they did or could influence. So far we can rule out GOG, the tools are there. Rest is mess between T17 and Pathea. We have heard Pathea's side and it indicates they DO NOT have that access. Silence from T17 side, except for one patch outdated long before it was released. For the time being, I'm placing blame at Team17.

In the end, does it really matter who's at fault? Dev or publisher? They are there to work together, so they're both equally at fault for this mess

And the original intent of this post remains relevant... a warning to potential buyers about the issues this game has... I, for one, would've totally skipped the game after looking at the reviews here on GOG and this post
