Including the hotfixes and a point release, Steam has now had 5 lengthy patches for the game and GOG is still on 1.0... I get that the brunt of the players are on Steam and it started life there in EA and all that, but the GOG release is definitely starting to feel like more of an an afterthought than a priority. I'll be seeking a refund soon if there's no action on this release here and won't be re-buying on Steam... this game still has a TON of smoothing out needed and those patches are critical for a game released in a not really ready for prime time state.

Really frustrated :(

Frustrating indeed. At this point I'm considering pirating a patched version of the game until it gets sorted out on GOG. Probably won't do it but the fact that the idea has popped is already telling enough. I wonder if delayed patches on GOG are a bureaucrautical issue since they can't be technical, right? I sure could use the improvements and fixes that have hit the Steam version of the game.
Developper says that patch to be release soon
It's very clear their main focus is Steam... I wonder how the Epic Games Store release is... if that one is getting all the Steam patches when Steam does or if they're still waiting as well

Looking at the list of changes from Steam in the 4 hotfixes and yesterdays 1.1 release, I don't even want to play the GOG release because there's a lot of major fixes to quests that are broken before the patches and all that
i am in the same situation than you

but... wait few days ..

i give 2nd chance... but if this situation came again and again.. refund !
From a Steam review:

While this game is promising, It isn't ready for a full release.

The biggest issue, is that there are game breaking bugs that you can't come back from, i.e., missing or not completing a quest 2 hours into the game will mean that you can't progress in the story line to completion, but you won't find that out until you've already put 40+ hours into the game. Forums are riddled with these issues that I wouldn't call bugs... the game is simply broken. Nothing is more maddening than putting that much time into a game only to find out you can't progress any further unless you start over (and the game is a bit of a grind.)

That's why I'm not playing the game any more until GOG gets the patches

I had hoped that GOG would receive the patches for the weekend, I also bought the game yesterday. The developers can publish the patches themselves on GOG, GOG itself does not have to do that:

Translated with Google.

Let me jump in this thread and clear some things up, as we see there are some assumptions made based on false information. We do appreciate your concerns and dedication to our platform, however we also do want to highlight that there is a lot of speculation with regard to our developer tools and what build delivery methods we offer to our partners.

First things first, let me tell you that we do have a devportal open to all our partners, not only for those who are implementing Galaxy features. Within this portal every developer can get a hold of our build delivery tool that works exactly like steampipe - updating a game on GOG is a matter of executing a single script.
Just to be on the same side, not every partner has switched to this system, but the ones who did are in the grand majority, and we are strongly encouraging all partners to use it.
Apart from the tools, documentation and dedicated Product Manager, each partner has an entire dedicated support team at their disposal.
What's more, after the build gets published on GOG via devportal, we test every single one of it - the reason for that is that we want to able to provide our developers with feedback regarding their games to maintain the quality of our products.

Hope this will one and for all clear things up regarding the build delivery system on GOG. Just remember, how the developer provides builds to GOG depends on many factors, however the final decision is always up to them.

Oh oh... That doesn't sound promising... For now I will uninstall the game, ask for a refund if there isn't any patch within the next week, and maybe come back after one year when most of the bugs (and especially that game-breaking stuff) are hopefully fixed.

If the patches don't start coming on a regular basis (even if it's not same day Steam gets them, I can wait an extra day or whatever) I'll be asking for a refund as well... Steam getting 6 patches in one week and GOG getting nothing? Uh uh
I also sent the developer a support request with the article on how developers can update their products on GOG.
Any news on an update? I would really like to get this game here on GOG rather than Steam, but with such a slow support I'm starting to loose interest.
It has been the same for The Long Dark. Update came right before Christmas on Steam while we had to wait around 3 weeks to get our hands on it here on GOG.

I don't really wanna complain, bc really, I always got other stuff to do or games to play, so I'd rather wait a few weeks and have updates AT ALL rather than having none. But yea, this certainly is a thing which can and should be greatly improved.

To be honest, I'm not surprised since it's Team17 Digital Limited (Publisher).

Dev wise (Pathea), they are competent, and they know how to fix some things. They aren't bad, but they need to ensure updates are equal on all platforms, expecially when two of them are on PC...

Then you got T17...... Known for Alien Breed and Worms..... Getting in on publishing something like this.... They need to step up their game and stop going comms silent when people start asking questions about issues, and need to inform the devs or they themselves to push the "Upload to GoG script"...

“Competent” is a good word, because they’re not great... Planet Explorers wasn’t really that well made. To me it seems like they’re still solely focused on Steam and don’t lift their heads up to notice they forgot to update the other places the game is for sale... I looked but haven’t seen if the Epic release is having the same problem as GOG... be interesting to know if they’re getting the shaft or not
