So, is what is clutching useful for ?
Does it helps turning ? Receptionning from jump ? Stabilizing during bumps ? Doing other things I actually don't see ?

I played the game again this morning, and it seems it is good for getting speed from a idle start, such as when standing on the starting line, or when you have recovered after falling off the bike. It probably has more uses, I'll let you know as I play the game more :)

You can try this: Stand on the starting line, and hold the clutch and acceleration-button. Release the clutch when the race starts, and you should get more speed than usual. You could also try it for other things, such as holding the clutch while in the air, then releasing it as soon as you land, giving you a good speed boost after a jump.

Interesting. And I confirm, it helps you accelerating when you're in low speed and you need more power. It's like in a car when you're shifting down to have more power from the engine.
And it enables you to do a wheeling !! (not sure that it's the correct word :P) At the start, being immobile (or in race at slow speed) you clutch and begin to accelerate, now keep accelerate button pushed and press down to put your weight in the back (keep the key pushed the time the front wheel rise).

It's a little bit strange that this kind of things aren't explained in the manual... But : we'll find all the clutching's secrets !

I just found this video explaining the uses of the clutch. Look at that clever use at 1:10 for example, pretty nice. This is an in-game video, and I think I remember seeing this in the game when I played the it on Xbox back in the days. I haven't found a way to see the tutorial videos in the PC-version yet, but I'll keep looking. Even if I can't find them in the game, though, they are probably all on YouTube :)

Nice ! And useful :D
I found this video who is interesting for some tips, and some tips in the description are really useful. Here are some of the bests :

Landings

When riding an ATV, try landing more on the front of the vehicle. When riding a bike, land more on the rear. Doing so prevents that particular vehicle from crashing as easily. This is especially useful in freestyle modes.

Bigger jumps

To make bigger jumps you can double preload. Double preloading is when you preload on the bottom of a face and at the top. Just preload as usual, only preload at the very bottom of a jump. Then on that same jump, preload again at the top. This will make you go a lot farther.

Hope they'll be on youtube ! If you find them, I'll be very happy to watch them !
Hum, I think I'll create a dedicated thread for "tips and tutos".
Edit : and it's here :)
