I've just downloaded the 720p version, and VLC is reporting 872x480 resolution...

Well, 872:480 seems not to be an standard AR. It is a little higher than 16:9 (853x480). Assuming that 16:9 720p is 1280x720, the same AR with the same horizontal resolution would be 1280 x 704, so 480p is a long way off.

Very disappointed with this... meta data of the file confirms the same 872x480 resolution!

GoG support has confirmed that it is 480p and the site will be updated to reflect that.
