rocker49009: Hello, this is my first post! Anyway, I want to start out by asking why a CD key isn't available with my install of mount and blade. I tried installing the (secretly updated) enhanced version for 1.011, but it requires a CD key and I cannot find it anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You won't be given a CD key by GoG for the original "Mount & Blade" as the version GoG provide through their installer never asks for a serial key at any point.
Unfortunately - as you say - this prevents you from activating the enhanced edition found on the ModDB website.
I only know of three solutions:
> If you own GoG Warband - type your GoG provided Warband key into the "Mount & Blade" key check - this will work!
There's actually no reason to purchase "Mount & Blade" since purchasing Warband gets you both games in effect!
> If you bought "Mount & Blade" from another place - perhaps some years ago? - use that old serial key to activate.
I bought the original game years ago direct from Taleworlds when it was still unfinished.

The game was given away for free not long ago and there's no multiplayer that depends on the key. Warband also makes M&B obsolete.
