Greetings GOGdenizens!

I recently got the free version of Mount and Blade Warband, and i'd like to patch it up to date. However, the in-launcher patcher doesn't access the new patches and manual patches say "No mount and blade warband installed"

How do i go about solving the problem?

The free game you could get from GOG is Mount&Blade. That's the full title. Mount&Blade Warband is a separate, stand-alone game you have to pay for.

So unless I misunderstood your post, you actually don't have MB&B:W, because you didn't buy it. The patches that would apply to the free game are the patches for Mount&Blade (no extra bits in the title).

Ah, okay, thank you! That makes much more sense!
How can i patch my M&B Warband i purchased from GOG for mac? Mods don't seem to load properly for my version. And it supposedly says version 2.0.0.9 which i don't understand because i have never heard of such a version.

If you're talking about the version number which appears in your GOG library where you downloaded the game, that's not the game version, it's the installer version. (Generally speaking, nowhere either on the GOG store page for a game or in your library will the game's (or patch's) current version number appear, only the version number for its installer.)
If there's no separate game patch for the Mac version, and you KNOW the game's been updated since you first downloaded it, then you'll have to bite the bullet and re-download the whole installer and re-install the game. Sorry. (Though this game's installer is by no means one of the bigger ones on GOG, so the "re-download" part shouldn't be that big of a deal.)
If you're still having trouble, make sure to check out this thread if you haven't, and maybe reply to or PM JudasIscariot, or just go through GOG support.

As to installing Warband mods (or anything to do with Macs, for that matter), I can't help you there. =) Try checking out some of the other threads here, or head to TaleWorlds' forums, where I'm sure there's a larger and more active community presence.

And if you can't find a thread in these forums that deals with your specific question, it's usually better to start a new "question/problem" thread -- or at least to post in a regular, non-question thread -- than to post your own question, however related, in someone else's already resolved question thread. Fewer people wander into threads like this once they're marked "SOLVED", so you're unlikely to get as many replies as you might in some other thread -- as you may well have noticed. :)

Hope all my rambling helps somewhat! EDIT: Ah, yes, and welcome to GOG!

EDIT 2: THE QUICKENING: Aaaannd I just now saw that you DID also make your own thread for more or less this very question. You...you...pre-ninja'd me. By two days. I bow to your skill. :D

Hi,
Sorry if I'm in the wrong place here but I just wanted to ask if it is best policy overall to load the entire game as well as the patch every time a new patch comes out? Or is it enough just to download only the patch? This goes for all games generally not just mount and blade.
Thanks, and Merry Christmas to everyone.

Updates & patches that GoG release will usually update any version of the game.

The installer will say if it can / can't.

It will also say if a problem has occurred - in which case you should re-install.

Just get the latest installer and the latest patch - in most cases.

i.e.

You don't have to reinstall the game to update Warband from 1.162 base -> 1.164 (latest)

Going from the previous update works too! i.e. 1.162 base -> 1.163 -> 1.164 (latest)

In rare cases it's sometimes necessary to download the complete new installer - but lots of us like to anyway for archival purposes.

Personally I like reinstall the game with each update; that allows me to test the files before I store them away.
Thanks. That is a thorough answer.

Haha, yea i figured it out with a bit of research. I did download the next installer and i was having issues with that, but then I realized i had security settings turned on, i needed to allow downloads from anywhere. So if anyone has issues downloading your installer on mavericks or yosemite check the security settings. I reinstalled both OS's twice and pulled out half my hair before i noticed what was going on :).
