I read this on the official Minecraft site:

“On behalf of the publisher, Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series, Season 1 and 2 will no longer be supported on June 25th, 2019. If you have purchased these seasons, please download all remaining episodes prior to the service being discontinued in June."

Yes, I've already done my backup too. I can't help but worry that such a situation will become normal. Is this legal?

That's why stores like GOG, with their DRM free policy make all the sense in the world. Don't you think?
Bought this minecraft story mode a few weeks ago for my daughter. It wasn't cheap either!
Then my daughter said its not the main game, can i buy her the main game?

I said no, that game i bought was expensive. Then After a few weeks i decided to take a look.

'Minecraft' search in the store gave no result? Ok mebe i bought it on Steam? Went and looked on Steam, Nothing!
So this minecraft game that everyone raved about doesn't exist?

So i did a google search for Minecraft, Oh there you go, i'm not crazy, it does exist! Company went broke or something.

I am trying to find games for my daughter to play to divert her away from all these creepy scam games like 'Roblox' that seem to be very easily found by children and then start ransoming you for money in order to do fun things in the game... F---ing disgraceful!

For everyone who purchased it prior to delisting, the game will remain in their GOG library.

Telltale went broke, yes. A google search would also reveal that Minecraft is an open world sandbox game by Mojang. Even though Microsoft bought Mojang, they still exists and sell that game. The Java version is the original game and not available on any 3rd-party platforms like Steam or GOG and never was. You can play the demo mode with a free Mojang account.
Story mode is a spin off, and despite taking place in the Minecraft universe, it is a completely different kind of game.
Read up anything Minecraft on the official wiki: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Minecraft_Wiki
games (Minecraft,...) that have been removed from Steam can still be downloaded normally if they are put into the library.
