Seweryn: I bought 1-6 pack, and i get over 800 fps, is there anyway around it. I tried using radeon pro and nvidia inspector to limit fps but it didn't help. Is there a way around it ? I have win 7 64 bit. I played fallout 1/2 and pharaoh, baldurs gate on my system and didn't have any of those problems.

Sarisio: Do you have VSync activated in your video card settings?
I went to nvidia control panel added mm6 to aplication turn vsync on, but it didn't helped.
Please see attached files.

Edit

I apparently i only get those fps while creating my party. When i entered the game i have around 60.

Seweryn: So what M&M would you suggest as the first game of the series ?
The recommendation of MM6 or MM7 as a first game isn't a bad one. But in case you are curious about the other games:

MM1 and 2: These are VERY old, but still quite fun if you can get past the old interface. First-person party-based dungeon crawlers, they are entirely turn-based and party movement is done "step by step" on a grid map, moving one square at a time. A modern example that works similarly is Legend of Grimrock, but MM1 and 2 are turn-based instead of real-time and have battles on a separate screen. In MM1 especially, part of the challenge is making your own maps and navigating traps designed to disorient you.

MM3-5: Still turn-based and grid movement, but greatly improved graphics (although still 2D) and now combat happens during exploration, with enemies moving around on the same maps you do. This makes the games much closer to Legend of Grimrock in how they play, except they're still turn-based. I personally like MM4-5 the best (they are combined into one huge game), but opinions vary on this. These games tend to be a bit easier than the others.

MM6-8: Now real-time with a full 3D world, but combat can be switched to turn-based at the touch of a button. These are the games that gave the series a reputation of huge armies of enemies and some grinding. I've actually only played MM6, not any farther, but I did find that game could be a slog at times. Still, exploration is fun and there's lot of potential for character customization and building a powerful party.

In general, the entire series maintains the "dungeon crawl" style, meaning it's all about exploring, fighting, and solving puzzles. There isn't much conversation, quests are simple, and there won't be any big moral choices like you might find in the other RPGs you listed. Even so, I found the premise / stories of the games to be surprisingly interesting, and in MM6 and onward the stories are intertwined with those of the Heroes of Might and Magic games also.

EDIT: All the games do a really good job of providing diverse locations to explore. Even the oldest games made the world feel like a varied and interesting place, with a distinct personality to each dungeon or other location that made them all memorable. That's one of my favorite things about the series.

Does that make it difficult to create the party? If not, I wouldn't worry about it.

It's also worth noting that even the earlier games in the series are not particularly linear. (Of course, this *does* mean that you can wander into an area with enemies that you are not expected to be able to kill at your current level, so be careful.)

I am fragile, when seeing fast moving pictures. I was forbidden by a doctor to ever be a driver, because i could caused an accident. So yeah it is a big issue. I will see if i can manage it or not.

i wanted to try legend of grimlock, but i heard bad info about it. That it is dungeon crawl and nothing else.
How about ubisoft take on this, i mean might and magic IX. Is it any good ?
When it comes to mm6, will i experience any of the things listed in the heroes game ?
Thanks in advance for answers,
Cheers,

Ah.

I just took at look at the party creation screen. The clouds along the top fly by really quickly, the flames in the bottom left and right corners flicker quickly, and the icons around the "active" stat spin quickly. The rest of the screen is more or less static.

The clouds are probably the easiest to deal with, by getting a piece of paper or something and just covering that part of the screen. The flames are a little harder, but doable with some effort. The biggest issue is probably the spinning arrows at either end of the currently selected stat; sadly, I can't think of a good way to conceal that.

Though, if you don't mind not customizing, you could just use the "Quick Start" option.

I haven't played Legend of Grimrock either, but I know it takes inspiration from Dungeon Master rather than Might and Magic. Might and Magic are more than just dungeon crawlers, in that there's a huge overworld to explore in whatever order you choose. But the gameplay is still just exploration, combat and puzzles like it is in dungeon crawlers.

That's actually Might and Magic X. I hear mixed things about it, some people like it, some don't, but most say it doesn't really fell that much like a Might and Magic game.

Might and Magic IX is supposed to be pretty bad, but I've never played it.

There are some connections between MM6 and the Heroes games, although I haven't played enough of the Heroes games to know how much there are. It takes place in the same world, anyway; earlier games did not.

The Grayface patch fixes this issue. Otherwise, it only happens at the party creation screen. You could ask someone to create the party you want and send you the save file?

Edit: or use the quick start option. The party you get when you use that is balanced and pretty much perfect for a new player.
