I've been playing MM9 and got to Yorwick. I managed to find a couple of Town Portal books and some other useful spells, however I've never seen a Lloyd's Beacon book (or even a scroll).

I've checked a few shops along the way but they usually had the basic spells. Googling also didn't help. Have I missed something?

higher tier towns magic shops, finding it is a pain in the ass but you can do it eventually.

Yes, I was finally able to buy one in Frosgard!

Make sure you thoroughly check the magic shops.
