Ia anyone else playing MM9 getting 11 second response times when opening the options menus, inventory or main windows? The status "Z" summary is instantaneous. Panning around the room and movement response is good. Its just the map, inventory & options windows that are dead slow.

My other MM series games 3 thru 8 all work fine, no delays in opening the maps, inventory or options windows. Its just MM9 that exhibits this behaviour. I am running Windows 7 on an Intel I7-4770S @ 3.1GHZ with 16GB RAM. I just did a complete redownload/reinstall of MM9, problem still occurs.

This thread's title seems relevant. You can take a look at the links there and see if they help.

The cshell.dll offered at this website causes MM9 to hang at the loading screen. Any other ideas?

"Contact Support" is about the only one I have left. Sorry.

I haven't played GOG's MM9, so I haven't encountered this issue myself. I did remember seeing another thread (which I linked above) about something similar, so I offered it. I didn't see anything else that looked relevant when I did some quick searching.

Support may take a few days to get back to you, but in my experience they've always been pretty good about solving problems once they get started. Support has reduced staff on weekends, so don't count those days. Don't open multiple tickets, or your tickets may get moved to the back of the queue. If it has been a week and you haven't heard back, then I'd go looking for a blue text in the forum. I believe Judas and Firek are the usual people that get pinged on AWOL support tickets.

I'll favorite this thread for awhile, in case you have any other questions.
Hello,
Might and magic 9 worked well in XP. When I went to windows 7 it had the exact same issue. I've tried all kinds of fixes and nothing ever really worked. At least all the other games work well.

I submitted the issue to Support. It has been assigned ticket number Y5G8ZITW.
As a last resort, maybe you could try playing the game using Windows XP virtual machine?

The issue went away after I updated my NVidia graphics card drivers. Never would have guessed that!

I'm glad it has been resolved!
I just tried the game as well and I found that it is also now working fine. Something in the new update I downloaded for my nvidia card fixed the issue.
