I have a problem in MM7 I've never encountered before. I waited as long as possible before rescuing the dwarves & getting the castle rebuilt. It made some of the quests much easier (T/C/S/M). Now, I need Judge Grey to die (whether or not I get the Gryphonheart Trumpet) before I can move forward. Here is all I have left quest-wise:

1) Retrieve Halder's remains (requires GM Protection from Magic in the Maze);
2) Find and Place the 3rd statuette (also requires GM Prot. Magic);
3) Arcomage (Celeste and The Pit);
4) Obelisks (Celeste, The Pit and Land of the Giants).

For reasons state above parenthetically, I cannot do those quests - yet I cannot gain any new ones, either. Any ideas on how to move the game forward other than resting for a couple months of game time?

You need to help the dwarves, after that you will get notified about war conflicts between humans and elves, and only after you are done with them, judge will die and you will be able to choose Light/Dark.

You won't lose the quests in progress you have at this moment. You can't reach Celeste for one of them without choosing Light/Dark, and you can't become GM in skills without choosing Light/Dark too. You also can't complete Arcomage without visiting Celeste tavern, which you can do only after choosing side (which means, judge must die).

You can successfully complete the Maze and the 3rd statutette without having GM Prot Magic; not every party would have access anyway. It may not be as safe, but it is possible.

As far as Judge Grey, you're pretty much just going to have to wait a couple of months. Make sure to travel to Harmondale every week or so, so you get the notifications about the Elf and Human reps (and can go do the war related quests). After you've completed those, check the Tularean Forest periodically to do the trumpet. Then just occasionally pop back to Harmondale to see if Grey is dead yet.

You could try to make the trip through the Tunnels to Eofol. I don't think you need GM Prot Magic to block the status effects from monsters in the tunnel, and you can use fly and/or invisibility to walk past the Titans to unlock the shrine portal. You can go looking for other dungeons as well. Get a Horseman NPC and you can pass the time by repeatedly visiting the arena with a minimum of resting.

If you haven't trained in awhile, then training is a good way to pass the time. If you can't train, then a fast way to pass the time is to take the 5 day walk between two regions repeatedly. Traveling without enough food won't kill you, so you don't need to worry keeping your food supply up.
I've never used Magic Protection to do the Maze. A lot of Rock Blasts.
There are some instant deaths. But Rock Blasts can kill without line of sight which is useful in the Maze
The dwarves cannot help at this point … I’ve already done all those quests.

I decided to work on the Maze w/o GM Prot. Magic, which gets annoying when one of the guys gets killed, but at least I’m making progress. Then training, then Tunnels to Eeofel if I still have to.

I hadn’t though of the utility of Rock Blast in doing so, though I’m only expert Earth at this point so I don’t have access to it yet (and have already leveled up as far as I can go so far).

It appears, though, that I’ll simply have to wait. This is interesting … I’ve been playing MM7 for years, and this is the first time this situation has occurred.

Thanks for the input.
Rock blast works in the TItans Fortress, also.
Not only around corners.
But you stand in the Green (far enough away to where they don't come after you),
and bounce boulders against the wall. The ricochet boulder will still hit the Titan.
Clear out the place w/o much problems. Dragons of course. There is that part. LOL.
Judge Grey will die four months to the minute that you enter Harmondale after the dwarves fix your castle (and get the "War!" entry in your history book). There is nothing you can do to speed that up, except by rescuing the dwarves and getting the relevant history entry sooner.
