The graphic options "Blood Splats", "Coloured Lighting" and "Tinting (?)" are greyed out. I can't select or deselect them.
My game shows magic effects in a weird way: instead of glowing "sparks", they consist of a collection of dull coloured "balls". Any idea what might be the problem?

Thanks in advance!

Is there any option for the renderer? Something like "software" vs "hardware/directx/direct3D"?
It sounds like the game it's set up to use software rendering, which disables those graphic effects, in which case setting it to directx (or direct3d or hardware, or however it may be called) may fix it.
When you start the launcher, select the other mode besides software. You may turn it back to software mode at any time when launching the game.

P.S. - If you get MM8, it also has a launcher program for selecting software and the other mode for the game.

I don't get a launcher. The game immediately fires up.

Edit: I started my game via my CD, and now I got the launcher. None of the .exe's in my install folders makes it pop up, though.

On a side note: how do I change the quickkeys? Is there a list which shows which number is which key?

Strange. I've installed MM7 numerous times and never had this problem.

You can change the quick keys in-game by selecting 'CONTROLS' and then 'KEYBOARD CONFIG'.
Thanks, but I meant changing keys for things like "Enable Mouselook". There's no such option in-game, AFAIK.
I think the patch has it.

Sorry, but it's been a long time since I've played the game through and I've somewhat forgotten how to do a few things.
