I have tried to figure out how early a normal party can get Town Portal at Level 12 (arch wiz). The earliest, so far, is mid-March. This involves a low level party to complete Corlagon's Estate which chews up low level parties. But I added a Spell Master who juiced up my party's spells enough to complete the promotion quest for Arch mage.
Got me wondering if there are any other NCO's I could add to try the Arch mage quest as early as possible.

Thanks

Correct me if I'm wrong, but MM6 doesn't restrict learning spells via promotions or skill mastery. If you know the skill, you can learn the spell. Therefore the earliest you can learn Town Portal is based solely on how fast you can reach a shop that might sell it and how fast you can raise the gold needed to buy it. So the max time would be like, a week or two, tops?

Earliest for Arch Mage Level (L12 with Arch Mage Promotion) is my personal challenge.

Ah. Is travel burning up time? The various travel time hirelings could cut down on that.

Using a lot of Gate Masters. Especially to and from Misty Isles. But Castle Ironfist isn't on the Town Portal Map.
You have to delay training sessions but still need parties high enough not to get wiped out, and the NCO's are helping. Another site suggests Mystic with Spell Master. Might try that.

Yeah, my other suggestion was going to be finding another NCO that boosts elemental magic that isn't also a spell master, and see if they stack.

Thanks. Stacking is my next lesson.
I started this because Arch Mages and Water Magic almost breaks the game. Enchant (Money ), Town Portal, and Lloyd's Beacon. But it has forced me to try different NCO combinations which has been fun.
This attempt had a 12L Party with the Druid with Ice Bolt backed up by Spell Master taking out Spectres. (Lot of Horse Shoe Skill Points in the Druid's Water Magic slot obviously.) Not bad even in a normal game.
If you cannot think of anyone else (if Mystic and Spell Master don't stack), take a Chimney Sweep! - might just save somebody one time from being insta-KOed by a specter, or aged by a spirit.

They do stack but the difference isn't enough to matter for the Estate. I guess I'll try my Luck, so to speak.
The last run through by March my Druid was Arch Druid (both Promos on March 20) and my Sorcerer Arch Mage. See how quickly I can get my Knight and Cleric to Hero and High Priest.
