Hello, so my game of Might and Magic 8 has messed up on me, and I can't keep playing now. I was playing, had just saved the game, and then my computer crashed, turning off on me. When I got it back on, I went to load my game, and in the spot where I had saved just before the crash, the name was blank, all other save games were fine. I get an error message when I try to load the blank data. It will let me load up any of the other saves, and I can play them fine. The problem comes when I try to save. It will crash out of the game, telling me there was a problem and it closed the game. That is all it says, no error code or anything. I can't figure out how to fix it, I am hoping someone can give me a hand, thank you.
Suggestions:

With File Explorer, copy your Saves folder somewhere else (I'll call this the backup), then delete the bad save file from your actual Saves folder. Start the game, load one of your older good saves, then save it again to the same spot you loaded it from. Did this work? If it did, try saving to the (now empty) spot that went bad before. Did this work? If so, load your most recent (furthest on in the game) good save. Try saving it again. If this worked, cross fingers and resume playing.
Problem is, for some reason, I can not find my save files. I go to my game folder. For me it is C:\program files (x86)\GOG.Com\Might and Magic VIII. In there, there is a save folder, but there are no files in it. Also, When I tried to run the game as an adminstrator, none of my saves from before were there when I went to load game. But if I start a new game while as an admi, it lets me save. And those saves do show up in the save fodder in the program files. I have no idea what is going on.

Ah, there is your problem right there.

It's not a good idea to install old games in Program Files. Can cause these kind of problems. Better install in c:\games for example.

This is due to UAC Virtualization:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2007.06.uac.aspx

This causes the save files to go to a virtual store in your user local appdata folder.

To get to your save files go to:
%LOCALAPPDATA%
^type the above in the location bar of a windows and it should take you to the local app folder. On Windows 7, this will be C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local

Then look for a subfolder called VirtualStore. The save files should be in that subfolder. Possibly in another subfolder call ed Might and Magic VIII.

What I suggest you do:
Back up your save files from the virtual store.
Back up your C:\program files (x86)\GOG.Com\Might and Magic VIII folder just in case.
Uninstall MM8.
Install it again outside Program Files.
Copy the save files from the virtual store into your new installation folder.

That worked and fixed everything for me. Thank you so much. I was loving the game, and didn't want to lose my save and have to start all over, or more likely end up quitting. I am like 40 or 50 hours in, lol. But thank you so much for the help.
No problem. Enjoy the game.
Now I am getting a new problem. Sometimes when I try to save, or enter/leave and area, I get an error message. It says " Save game corrupted! Code=200 in file F:\MM8src\MM8\Code\Loadsave.cpp at line number 765" And then Ill have to click to x out of it, and it will pop the same message, but with different code= numbers, and different line numbers. It will do that a few times, then if I was saving, I can keep playing, but any save will do the same. If I am entering/leaving somewhere, it will quite out. I don't know what to do.
