storvik: Hi,

I have just downloaded MM7 and started it up. The music comes in very loud straight away and when I go to the settings and move the slider down, it makes no difference at all.
I can't have that loud music on while I play, but I'd rather not have to switch off all sounds.
Any advice?
Have you tried turning down the volume in your Windows sound mixer settings? I think you can turn down the volume for the game itself once you have the sound mixer and the game open.

It probably doesn't help that the Emerald Island music is quite loud at the start.
I have tried everything to get the music to stop playing. Since there is no slider for volume i would like it off. If rename the folder as suggested the game crashes on load. there is no option related in the .ini. can anyone help me?

MM7?

Does moving the slider all the way to the left not switch off music completely?

You can try making empty txt files (2.txt, 3.txt, etc.), then rename them to mp3, replacing original files. This should work.
I'd like to officially get the Might and Magic V soundtrack as it has certain unique tracks that would be spoilery to mention.

My MMVII seems to have a soundtrack that plays the same song no matter where I go in the game and is not controlled by the controll setting sound controller in the game. unless I turn the computer sound all the way off I hear the sound with the same music all through the game. What can I do to get that right?

If you or anyone else is still looking for the Might and Magic 5 soundtrack, look over at youtube. These's a channel called Xeen Music that contains all sorts of music from the early Might and Magic series (MM 1 - 5) in high quality and partly recorded from original hardware: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkaw8JCjBSgOyLd0EOQwT-g

Maybe I'm a little late to the party, but just re-installed this game from Gog after many years and did a playthrough. Something felt odd and remembered the game had really good music but mine never changed from the theme song. Looked for solutions online but nothing popped up. What I did was simply run the game directly and not through GoG Galaxy and that solved the issue of music changing based on location. It did not however solve the slider issue not controlling the volume of the music. hope this helps.

My favorite track is the one that plays in Free Haven.
