How does Enchant Item work exactly? I have tried the potions, scrolls and casting the spell and none of them seem to work. It say something like "Cannot enchant, enchantment failed". Does the quality of the item or weapon matter like in MM6?

You can only enchant non-magical items, that is, those with no affixes. So you can't enchant your wooden or steel long sword; you can only enchant a plain one.

(Similarly, in MM3 I believe you can't enchant leather leather armor, but you can enchant plain leather armor.)

I see, thank you!
I had assumed Steel Long Sword was without property while something with a magic attribute was already enchanted.
