I assume you are referring to the files that you downloaded separately under "additional content"? These files are simply extras and are not required to run the games. They're just there if you want to listen to the soundtracks outside of the game sometime.

As for what to do with them, they are .zip files so you will need some way to unzip them. There are many free programs that can do this. The one that I use is called WinRAR and can unzip .zip files as well as many other compressed formats including .rar. You can download WinRAR from here:

http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

Use one of the top two links, depending on whether you have a 32-bit OS or a 64-bit OS. Once you unzip the files, you will have .mp3 files of the tracks from the games.

Thanks for the reply!!!!
I tried to play Might And Magic 3 but I have a problem.
Everything loads up but the graphics are shifted over to the right so its cutoff
on the right side.
I tried to to make a pic file to show as an example but it's not cutoff.
Anyway to pic this????
Could be your monitor. There should be a menu button; if you press that, you see option to adjust where the image is displayed on the monitor, as well as brightness and contrast and other things.

There may also be a menu item that says "auto-adjust;" if so, that will usually fix it automatically. Some monitors even have an auto-adjust button right next to the menu.
If you've having trouble fixing it, you can also play in a window instead. Use Alt+Enter to switch to windowed mode. If the window is too small, you can make it bigger using the configuration file located in your install directory. Look for a file called mm3.conf, and open it in a text editor. Find the line called "windowresolution" and change it to whatever resolution you want, e.g. 1280x1024 or 1024x768.

Post back if the cutoff problem still exists in windowed mode.
The windows mode is too small.
Also, there isn't a mm3.conf file
I don't want to play with my monitor settings because it might screw up other programs.
Your computer should save your monitor settings for different situations. If you're using the buttons on the monitor, it should not affect any programs.

Make sure to change the settings when the game is open. Should the settings for your desktop get changed along with the game settings, you can fix them the same way.

I might have the name wrong... look for any file in the install directory for MM3 that has the .conf extension.

I highly recommend this... I ran MM1 and MM2 in windowed mode but I upped their resolution to 1280x1024 so the window was quite large. You can also set the game to default to windowed mode by finding the line called "fullscreen=true" and changing it to "fullscreen=false".

I don't have the game installed right now... does anyone else know the exact name of the configuration file?

dosboxMM3.conf would be the name of the file.
When I did this: Find the line called "windowresolution" and change it to whatever resolution you want It did nothing
When I changed "fullscreen=true" and changing it to "fullscreen=false". It ran the game in window mode.
I have no problem at all with this game on my laptop.

I believe that Waltorious' idea was to run the game in a window that is large enough to appear as full screen, as that wouldn't be shifted off to the side.
Well, what was said for me to try II can't get a big enough screen without being cutoff.
The windowed mode is too small.
I'm not worried too much about getting this work work on my desk top computer
anymore.
I'll just play the game on my laptop.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR REPLIES!!!!

Right, by putting it in windowed mode and setting the resolution to whatever your monitor requires so that the window fills your entire screen.

I'm glad you've found a solution that works for you. Just to clarify what I was trying to say before though... if you change the "windowresolution" setting, then it actually changes the size of the window. So if you set it to a larger resolution, like 1280x1024 for example, the window will actually be pretty big, even if it doesn't fill your whole screen. I was hoping that in windowed mode, the screen wouldn't be cut off, and then you could scale the window up to a larger size that was workable for you.

But if you've got a solution that works for you, that's all that really matters!
