There appears to be 10 save slots available when I go to load but after I reached the third save slot it appears to be just overwriting that third one. There has been no forthcoming 4th, 5th, 6th, etc. saves. Any help or suggestions? Thanks.

Are you sure you are describing the problem correctly, including the right game? I am almost certain you can't choose a save-slot in MM3 except at the very beginning of a game (that is, you can only have one save slot per game).

(My memory may be fooling me and I can't check right now, though, so sorry if I am wrong.)

I have read that there is SUPPOSED to be only 1 game slot but when I load a game it shows a screen with ten game slots number 1 through 0 and it saved the first three slots progressively and then stopped progressing and just keeps replacing the save in the third slot. But now that I know there's only supposed to be one save I won't worry about it too much. However, it is odd that it's showing 10 slots and only using three. And after the first two slots were used it hasn't saved over top of those any more.

You can have up to 10 games running at once, but only use one slot for each.
And after the first two slots were used it hasn't saved over top of those any more.
And were those first two slots used for the same game? I believe you choose your slot at the start of the game and it does not change afterwards.
