So I have a Tandy 1000SX that I wanted to play MM2 on. With MM1 I was able to simply copy over the files, run graphset.exe, select TGA and launch the game. With MM2, however... even using the "MM2 T" command to choose Tandy mode (MM2 /? lists all the graphics modes rather than having a seperate .exe for setup) the program fails to boot up and the system hangs. The Tandy 1000SX is maxed with 640K ram so that was not the issue.

By downloading another copy of MM2 from elsewhere I was able to get the game to boot, however it would freeze whenever an NPC (Innkeeper, bartender, Corak) was supposed to appear on the screen, as well as if I went to the overworld. It *would* work however, in CGA mode.

Through trial and error of using some of the GOG files (most of the .16 and .4 files) and the .exe and .ovl files from other copies I was able to get it working fully. However, the game does check both my A and B floppy drives and ask to insert Disk I every time I launch the game. I can skip it and play anyway but it is pretty annoying to have to wait for both disk drives to check for the disk, press enter, have them check again.... then press enter once more to launch.

I suspect that there are some differences in the way the .exe works between the 5.25" version and the 3.5" version. I believe the 3.5" version is what is provided by GOG and that the 5.25" version, for some reason, is required to run on my real hardware. I should also note that the GOG version runs fine in DOS on my Windows 98 machine... so these issues are exclusive to real XT machine.

Does anyone here have physical disks of the 5.25" version? I am curious to see which disks have which files, their sizes and if there is a disk check even after you've used the Install.Bat that is included for Hard Drive Installation.
I have the Commodore 64 version of the game on 5.25". But I do not have a floppy drive or a C64, so I'm not going to be much help.
I think I might have the physical 5.25" disks for the PC version somewhere, but also don't have a drive to read them any more :/
